Cedar... New Grad Program 2011?

Published

Does anyone know if cedar sinai still has new grad program?

thanks for the positivity!!!! I'm still hoping and praying to get a call... I was one of the last people interviewed that day... Do you think that's the reason i haven't got a call yet?

You know, it could be a reason. I was actually scheduled at 4pm that day but had to come in around 2. My BF had a theory that they were going in the order of interview times. Not quite sure though, just a theory. I feel like they will still be making some calls next week too because I'm sure there a number of people who turned down the position. As hard as it is to stay calm and not freak out, because believe me, I was stressing out like crazy, try to think positive thoughts! The best of luck to everyone who is waiting for that call!

Yeah my BF said the same thing because initially my appointment was at 2:30 pm but I ended up getting interviewed at 4:30pm and didn't leave until 6:00pm. I'm just trying to pass the time by distracting myself... AHHHHH!!! I just wanna know because the suspense is killing me!!! Don't worry, positive thoughts are the ONLY THINGS in my head!!!! Will keep you guys posted!!!!

28.71/HR? for 12 hours this works out to be 42/hr for an 8 hour shift. I'm confused. The numbers don't make sense to me.

can anyone 2nd what NurseVN is saying?

I was told $33.50/Hr

i was also told 33.5/hr for bsn......not sure what this 8 hour thing is

Awww man! That makes me sad. I thought it was $33.50 plus overtime. Oh well, better than nothing.

So I did the math. It makes sense.

So pretty much, here's how it goes.

Pay for first 8 hours of the 12-hour shift: 28.71 x 8 = $229.68

Pay for Last 4 hours of the 12-hour shift (time and a half): (28.71 x 1.5) x 4 = $172.26

So for the whole 12 hours, we get: 229.68 + 172.26 = $401.94

To get the average rate for the whole shift: 401.94/12 = $33.495 or $33.50

Thus, they told us it's $33.50 per hour.

Bummer! Still not bad though. :)

that's ok... we can live with that right?? what's important is that we are all getting jobs... still better than nothing... ;)

I couldn't agree more. Still better than $8 per hour. Lol

yea, i just worked it out too and yea thats right.....but that means we get OT technically, but nursevn said we didnt get OT

33.5 is definiitely liveable

are any feb 7th start date ppl interested in hanging out at all? I'd like to know how things are in the beginning, so I can be prepped when I start feb 28th. I plan on being in LA around the 16th of feb
