Cedar... New Grad Program 2011?

Published

Does anyone know if cedar sinai still has new grad program?

my friend is still waiting for a phone call. she had less than 3.5 gpa. did they accept anyone who has less than 3.5 gpa?

i've read some old posts that the hospital covers some type of relocation reimbursement... does anyone knows if this applies to new grads too? thanks

Does anyone know what type of tuition reimbursement they offer?

$1500 relo. up to $2600 tuition reimbursement.

I think they are done with calls unless more people cancel.

Hi! For the new grads starting on monday 2/7 what's your schedule like? How many days do you have hospital orientation, class, etc. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! :nurse:

Hi... the schedule is 5 days (M-F) appx 7:30/8am to 4/4:30pm, depends on the day. Seems like general hospital orientation with a mix of new employees, then at certain times the orientation group splits up and licensed employees have additional requirements more specific to hands on patient care and hospital policies. It also looks as though there will be some time orienting us to benefits and enrolling in medical, etc.

They provide an orientation guide and the days look full and interesting. I was told to wear comfortable shoes!

It's going to be a great week!

thanks for the info again obiwanjj

Can anyone suggest good economical places to live in L.A. area? I don't mind commute upto 30mins.

Any help would be appreciated.

BenGRN - thanks... i think i'd better call Liza and find out how that relocation applies to us...

obiwanjj - thanks as well for the info... after the orientation, were you given a schedule already of how your work shifts are going to be? and did you have the option of choosing days or nights for your shifts? thanks =)

I stayed at my friend's place which was about 6 miles away from the hospital and it took me 40 minutes to get to the hospital at 2pm on wednesday for the interview.

Craigslist seems to be like a solid bet.

la is an interesting city because the area's can change very quickly. you could be driving down a really nice neighborhood and one wrong turn or one wrong exit off the freeway and the area can be completely different! i've been living in la for the last 6 years and i personally love west la. craigslist is great to use but be careful because the really nice/cheap apartments might not be in the best area; hence, why the rent it cheap. looks are very deceiving on craigslist so always check out the place in person!! you really do get what you pay for in la. when looking for a place on craigslist, type in the location: west la, palms, rancho park, culver city. westwood, brentwood and beverly hills are a lot pricier but have nice places and are near cedars. hope this helps you "out-of-towners" :)

Westsiderentals.com is a good site for rentals. Everywhere in LA is expensive for rentals. Our first two weeks are hospital and nursing orientation. Then we get assigned to a unit and our schedule mirrors our preceptors' schedules.
