CCP Fall 2011

Hi everyone! I just received my acceptance into Community College of Philadelphia's nursing program and I am sooo excited! I have been trying to go to nursing school for awhile now and it is a huge relief to be accepted somewhere. :yeah: Has anyone else applied or gotten their letters yet? I see a lot of people posting about other schools, but not many recent posts regarding CCP. I hope to hear from some more prospective CCP nursing students!

So....I called the school and they said they sent my papers to the wrong address!:eek: I don't know how that happened considering I got my acceptance letter just fine. Anyway, they are resending me the papers. I'm so glad you guys mentioned what papers you had recieved, otherwise I would not have known. Thanks!!

i got my papers today! now i guess i have to get started on all of this background check stuff. :lol2:

has anyone been able to view their fall tuition online? in past semesters it was available as soon as i registered for classes, but now when i try to see how much my tuition is going to cost for fall it says "fee assessment calculations are not being done at this time". i'm not sure if its because of starting the nursing program or what but I would really like to know the cost so i can start planning! :confused:

It doesn't reflect mine either but you can basically figure it out by calculating the credit hour cost ($896 for a Philadelphia resident) plus a $264 additional course fee. But remember all the other additional costs for uniforms, books, etc. It should be something around that.

Hey I got accepted to the program for the fall too..Do we have to register for classes? because in the forms they sent me it said something about them going over it on May 10..also does anyone know if the drug test is a urine or hair drug test?

You can register for classes now. Many people have already registered so its probably better to do it now so that you can get the class times that you want, and then if you need to you can make changes later. I'm not sure what kind of drug test we have to take, most likely urine because I've noticed thats what a lot of other students have had to take. I guess we will find out at orientation though. Congrats on your acceptance!! :yeah:

Okay thanks. The only problem Is that ever since they changes my curriculum to nursing, I hasn't been able to web register. Is that like with everyone or do we have to register with a counselor or something? Also I just sent out for my child abuse clearance do we need that on my 10th for orientation or just the fingerprint conformation? Thanks so much hun!

hmmm.....i was able to register online so i'm not sure why you cant. I also sent in my child abuse form so I hope we don't need to bring it to orientation. I don't think it will be too big of a deal that we sent ours in already, they all have to go to the same place in the end anyway, ours will just get there earlier. lol. I know we definitely have to bring our fingerprint/background check confirmation stuff and then at orientation they will give us the info on the health requirements.

I am very confused about all this to....because I sent in my child abuse clearance and they sent the certificate saying my clearance to my house so do we now send that to the school?

I think you can just bring it with you when you go to orientation. Mine hasn't come in the mail yet, but I'm going to give it to them at orientation if it comes in time.

Ok sounds good mine took a really long time to come in the mail...about 3 weeks....also does anyone know if the orientation Is the only time to buy uniforms because I don't even know how much money to bring with me and do we get drug tested at orientation because I think we need to pay for that also?? It's so vague what they tell you so I'm

Hi All,

I just saw this, had no idea you all were here. I am starting the Nursing program @ CCP in September too. I see that many of you registered already. What the heck? An administrator told me don't do anything til orientation and not to worry about it!! Now I'm worried about it! I am about to go online and see if the system lets me web register.

Congratulations to Everyone!!!!! It's been a lot of hard work.

A friend of mine who is finishing his first year in the program just started an online CCP nursing group. Will post http in next post.
