CCP Fall 2011

Hi everyone! I just received my acceptance into Community College of Philadelphia's nursing program and I am sooo excited! I have been trying to go to nursing school for awhile now and it is a huge relief to be accepted somewhere. :yeah: Has anyone else applied or gotten their letters yet? I see a lot of people posting about other schools, but not many recent posts regarding CCP. I hope to hear from some more prospective CCP nursing students!

Wierd. When I search for nursing classes, it brings up none. Says no classes fit the search criteriea.

Oh, well. Guess I'll have to wait and put it on the back burner for a bit and study for all these finals.

All,

I got answers to some questions, got an unexpected chance to speak w/head of dept. No better source.

Registering:

I was told that to do a class search, choose "all campuses," b/c nursing courses are considered hybrids. If, by chance, you are unable to register prior to the orientation, do not worry, we will leave the orientation registered. THey have a computer lab reserved for that purpose.

We must register for 4 components: lecture, lab, seminar and clinical. Clinical times will say "to be determined;" the college makes their own clinical assignments, therefore we need not worry about scheduling conflicts.

Uniforms:

No more than $300. We will need two pairs of pants, two shirts, a jacket and a nametag. Checks and credit cards most likely accepted.

Hiiiii Everyone!! I will also be started at CCP in the fall. I am so excited to meet everyone at orientation in a week! Zephyr can you join the nursing group on google even if you don't start the program till the fall?

Yup, absolutely you can...I put the first post on it yesterday, and I just recieved replies already via my email.

I have an ID issue which is slowing me down on the background checks we need...bleahh....

Anyone taking any bio finals this week, like 110 or 241?

I Registered for the group yesterday this is so exciting we ge to talk before orientation! I took my micro final today and got an A!! So glad that all the pre reqs are over....zephyr who did you have for micro if you are taking it?

I had Mitchell. And Johnston for 109 and 110. How about you?

I am dreading these bio exams. Bleah.

Has anyone submitted letters of intent for the Drexel Blue-Gold Dual Admissions program? If so, were you aware of any condition stating that you must have "no previous college experience" to qualify? However they define that?

I had butte for micro (very good teacher) if anyone still needs to take micro or a&p. I have not applied for blue gold program but that sounds really weird that to qualify you can't have any college experience. Try to email the guidance office they always get back to me quicker over email than phone calls everytime that I've had a question

I found out that it is indeed a fact, that Drexel has a condition for their dual admissions program: no prior college credits. It's just not printed too plainly on the literature. To my understanding, the other dual admissions programs don't have that condition.
