I had 9 points. When I went to the orientation the lady told me that people with 8's and 9's usually have no problem getting in. Its the 7's that are borderline. She also said that they don't look at anyone's application until after Jan. 15, so if you applied later you have the same chance as those who applied early. In older threads some people didn't receive their acceptance letters until March so I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't received it yet.
I was also told that they usually send out the majority of the rejection letters first and then begin to accept based on the 7,8,9 point system. I'm hoping this is good news for me. I didn't apply anywhere else as I was sure I would be in the 9 point range! But I was told too that 8's usually get in, so hopefully this week I can come back with good news!
Hello! I am pretty positive I had 7 points on the point system, and I was accepted into CCP's program. I also have my bachelor's from Temple, and I took classes at CCP. I have also been accepted into Abington's program... any thoughts or advice on which program is better? I have heard great things about both!
Congrats on your acceptance! I have also heard great things about both programs. I know Abington is affiliated with the hospital so that may be a plus if you are interested in working there after graduation. I think both programs are two years long and they both have good NCLEX pass rates (Abington's is a little higher). CCP is a little cheaper (I think), but both schools offer financial aid. I'm sorry I'm not much help with comparing the two schools, but I'm sure you'll get a good education no matter what you decide.
Abbington has a good track record..A little bit higher than CCP. But if you have all the means, If I were you I would rather choose the Abbington. They also hired their own graduates, In this current economic situation a lot of nursing graduates are having problems finding a job. Just my own personal thought...Think ahead...

Hi everyone! I just received my acceptance into Community College of Philadelphia's nursing program and I am sooo excited! I have been trying to go to nursing school for awhile now and it is a huge relief to be accepted somewhere.
Has anyone else applied or gotten their letters yet? I see a lot of people posting about other schools, but not many recent posts regarding CCP. I hope to hear from some more prospective CCP nursing students!
