CCBC FALL 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I just submitted my application to CCBCs Essex Day program for Fall '19. I immediately felt like I was going to puke! (hopefully this is a good indication?!) Anyway, I would love to connect with other applicants, so we can worry together.

Hoping to hear back from some of you!

I received my email at 3:56 pm. It gives congratulations and outlines what will be discussed and done at the first orientation .

I was worried I was missing something, so I emailed the coordinator at Catonsville. They responded and said that there was no extra emails for the catonsville people, only the initial acceptance email, and that all info would be given on orientation day. Perhaps everyone who is getting additional emails are from the Essex campus?

Also, I know we'll get this info at orientation, but does anyone know what type of shoes we need? I know they're white and probably have to have closed heels (no crocs), but are they very picky?

I'm trying to get them now so I can use a by one-get one 50% off sale!

Your shoes have to be white and leather with no openings. It doesn't matter if they have laces or not, as long as they're white and leather.

Oh sorry yes I was accepted to Essex campus

Hello all,

for those of you that have already completed the program or even just a few semesters, did you need the access codes for Contemporary Nursing and Nursing Diagnosis Handbook?

Those are the only two that say w/Access on the required books for the courses. Just trying to see if I could buy used, or if it’s better to buy new with the access code.

Thanks in advanced for the info!!

You can buy almost every book used without any problems. The only thing I really remember using the web-based material for was a handful of Funds labs, and the DocuCare information. So I would snag the Fundamentals of Nursing book as new, but the rest can be used for sure.

How do you know what books are needed now? Are you in the day program? Did you have your orientation already? I know nothing and I’m in the evening. Lol

Yes we had our orientation today and they gave us a handout with all required books for the entire course.

Just wondering anyone that had orientation already or is in the program did they mention anything about using old books meaning older editions? Just curious as I don’t know who to contact yet to ask. Thanks

so did anyone else think the instructor was talking directly to them when she said people who study using memorization won't do well? asking for a friend ??

I just got in touch with a professor she just told me that they will talk about this at orientation.

Ok, wow, I can see why previous threads to this website die once people go to orientation! There is so much to do!!!! ????
