Hi all!
I just submitted my application to CCBCs Essex Day program for Fall '19. I immediately felt like I was going to puke! (hopefully this is a good indication?!) Anyway, I would love to connect with other applicants, so we can worry together.
Hoping to hear back from some of you!

I applied back in January to the evening/weekend program and was recently accepted! Start date is August 13th and it feels like there is so much to do beforehand. I am very excited, but nervous about balancing the workload and not knowing what to expect content wise this semester. Any tips for dosage practice? I want to get a strong understanding of that before the start of the semester if possible. Thanks, Ashley
Have you enrolled in the dosage and calculations course through blackboard?
Ok! I've went in and did a couple of the modules but I havent went through all of them. Just be sure to learn CCBC's rules on how they prefer you to round and try to remember them. Hopefully someone who has mastered this subject can give us new comers some great tips on how to master this subject as well.
Just now, Crashcourse1014 said:Yes, I have enrolled to the dosage course on BB, still a little confused on some of it. Might try to look on YouTube for explanations as well. I haven’t gotten all the books yet. Is the bookstore the best option or somewhere like Amazon? Thanks for the input!
A lot of my books I just kept searching on Facebook market place and google them also to see who has best price majority of mine are all used either through amazon or Barnes and nobles I do have a couple I bought older editions instead since I got them from previous students. There are two Facebook pages selling books one is called ccbc nursing book exchange and another is ccbc book sell and trade
Please do not stress yourselves out about the dosage test.
Know your conversions:
2.2 kg = 1 lb
1000 mL = 1 L
1000 mcg = 1mg
1 tbsp = 15 mL
1 tsp = 5 mL
When rounding, always round to the nearest drop or mL if it is an IV pump question. For weight based problems, adult doses are rounded to the nearest tenth, and ped doses are rounded to the nearest hundredth.
If you understand how to cross multiply, you will be fine. Nursing school comes with enough stress, don't fret about a little math.

waitlisted folks has anyone received email or phone calls? This is not fun I'd rather take not accepted than waitlisted.
