Hello Everyone,
Here we go again! This is my second time applying to CCBC's nursing program. I look forward to chatting with everyone as we wait for the GOOD news! I believe things happen for a reason! I have good faith that Fall 2011 is going to be my turn for acceptance. I guess we will see if I am right.
For anyone who was not accepted this Spring, we can be a great support system for each other :).
GOOD LUCK!!!
I was rejected. :-( It sucks, but it is what it is. I expected it all along because my grades aren't up to par and my TEAS score was unacceptable. Proficient or not, unless you're high in their ranking, it doesn't matter. I met their requirements and I at least had a shot, but I knew it all along that it wouldn't work out.
Best of luck to everyone who has been accepted! Stay positive and focused and remember there is someone who could very well be in your spot in the program. Work your ass off and completely earn your spot. Don't be like those I hear of who fail Fundamentals and get another chance to take it again. Prove yourself to those of us who didn't make it... yet. :-)
Kelly, you'll get in! Whether it's this semester or next, you will. :-) Keep trying because you'll get it right eventually.
I finished all pre-reqs but I too only had proficient on the teas V. My school GPA is 3.7 at CCBC but all rest of my credits(including sciences) were all transferred. I had C's in MIcro and AP I and a B in APII and C in Statistics. Nothing to right home about but I am finished all classes and don't really understand 4 rejections. This is so mind boggling. I can't cheer up no matter how much I try. CCBC was my last hope for this year. I definately have to do night and weekend
Just as an FYI...
Mine said "waitlist" before it changed to "decision mailed" and it ALLOWED me to register for Dosage. I only did it to see what would happen, for I have no clue how long the waitlist is, or what it even means.
Anyhow, even though mine did NOT say accepted, it allowed me to register.

GM All,
Mine said decision letter mailed too. I did not see waitlisted first. I am assuming that it is a rejection not even waitlisted. That being said, I was able to register for dosage as well. I know that they don't allow you to register for any other major class without pre-reqs but dosage they may. I didn't try before to register so I don't know if they would have denied access.
As far as waitlist goes, they said they waitlist a fewpeople in case people don't pay their seat fee, got into another program and refuse their seat, background/medical don't check out, or fail their final classes. After they fill those potential seats your name falls off the list if you are not selected and you have to start the process all over again with app fees and so forth.
The worst part is night/weekend classes only happen in the fall. At least day program starts twice a year.
Good Luck to everyone.
Hi, I have been following this thread and I the support here! I just want to tell the people who did not get into CCBC to please keep trying....don't give up your dreams. Meet with an advisor and see if there is anything you can do to improve your application. I am no stranger to disappointment, so I feel with you. I am turning down my spot at CCBC's online program, because I was accepted into another program, so for those wait listed, there is one extra spot!
Keep your heads up ladies....I am just finishing my first year at Essex and it was not easy to get into the program. It was by far the most stressful time of my life ( Just trying to get in!!!) . For those that got in...WELCOME!! And a BIG CONGRATS!!! It is a tough program but very rewarding :)
Those that did not get in, try and get at least A's and B's on your science classes. I really don't think that C's will fly. Also, the TEAS was a different version when I applied but I did take it three times till I got a high B. I was rejected and wait listed my first time and accepted the second time.
There is always room to make your chances better, not wanting to re-take a science just because it was a pain in the butt is not a good reason. If you want to get in, you have to show them that you will do whatever it takes to get accepted.
The whole acceptance process is a major "Hot Mess" but I don't think that is ever going to change. Trying to figure it out is just going to drive you insane.
Good Luck to everyone :)
Good Morning All Nurses Fam,
Did anyone get any letters from CCBC this weekend?
Anyone just browsing who has been accepted into a RN program at a community college in Maryland or not accepted, wish to add their experience?
Thanks to all who posts on this board. It gets me through hearing about other RN's in the making. Whether you were accepted on rejected, it feels good to know that their are others in the same boat.

Congratulations to everyone who has made it in! Yes, I am very sad that I did not get the "Accepted Status," but I am still holding out hope that I will be wait-listed. Nursing has always been my dream and I will not stop applying until I get in. Weather it is today, tomorrow, next year, I will get my RN.
Chin up everyone that did not get accepted! Just one bump in the road, and there will be many more. I truly wish everyone the BEST! Good Luck to all!:redpinkhe
