Hello Everyone,
Here we go again! This is my second time applying to CCBC's nursing program. I look forward to chatting with everyone as we wait for the GOOD news! I believe things happen for a reason! I have good faith that Fall 2011 is going to be my turn for acceptance. I guess we will see if I am right.
For anyone who was not accepted this Spring, we can be a great support system for each other :).
GOOD LUCK!!!
I haven't gotten a pink card and was kinda freaking out (I sent in my app in January). I called the Essex campus and the administrative assistant (I think her name is Patty - very nice lady) checked for me and assured me that my applicaiton was there and complete and ready for review. Whew! Now just have to wait for 8 flippin weeks to hear back...
I hear ya'. I have called over there a few times for different things. I wonder if they get sick of us calling?! It must be crazy this time of year for them as well, but 8 weeks feel like forever for us. I would be pretty disappointed if I didn't get in, but not devastated. I am still taking my A&P II and Micro so that may be to my disadvantage, even though I am working on A's in both. I have not taken any courses at CCBC ( it sounds like they get some priority), so maybe I am not at the top of the list. I did well on TEAS, but that is only part of it. Oh well...lots to consider and ya' just never know how they will look at the cohort. I am applying to the evening/weekend program so don't have a lot of choices in Maryland (although CCBC has a good rep so I am pretty fortunate).
I spoke with L. Simmons (Director of school of health professions) on Friday. She said now that the nursing applications are online, they are getting about 50 applications a week! Yikes!!! They won't have a final count until after the deadline; it is much more than the previous years. I hate the wait already!
500??! Oh well...guess I can think about Plan B now! Oh that's right..there is no Plan B!
That's a lot of applicants. Is Gaelros' point possible-that the 500 is for all programs combined? I really hope so. Even so you have to figure that at least a third of applicants have no chance but just throw the application in anyway; some have other first choices, so it narrows it down a bit. (Ok so that really doesn't make me feel better either).
I still have not received my pink card and I submitted my app in mid-Februrary. Anyone else in the same boat?
I do not have a 4.0, but TEAS was good. I went to an undergrad school years ago that experimented with intermediate grades (A, A/B, B, B/C etc..) so if you received an A/B, it transfers as a B, even though the original grade was really a low A. ...that does not help my GPA. Very frustrating. My current pre-reqs are all A's but they won't, unfortunately, see the grades from this semester, so I am really not sure where I stand overall.
I really wish I could concentrate on something other than waiting for my acceptance/rejection notice. Mid-May is sooooo very far away.
