CCBC, Fall 2011 Applicants =)

Published

Hello Everyone,

Here we go again! This is my second time applying to CCBC's nursing program. I look forward to chatting with everyone as we wait for the GOOD news! I believe things happen for a reason! I have good faith that Fall 2011 is going to be my turn for acceptance. I guess we will see if I am right.

For anyone who was not accepted this Spring, we can be a great support system for each other :).

GOOD LUCK!!!

i signed up for summer 1, summer 2, and fall. i hope it was a waste of my time!!! summer 1 needs to be dropped before june 3rd. i really hope we know before than!!! good luck everyone :)

I was going to take Summer classes but I dropped them. At this point, I don't need anything more to be able to apply, I've been academically ready since last Fall but I'm going to improve a few grades to make my transcript look better. If retaking classes will increase my chances of getting in (if I'm rejected this cycle) then that's what I'll do. But hopefully my summer will be full of orientation and dosage! ;-)

Ugh, hurry up June! This wait is for the birds.

I spoke with Gwen Jones yesterday. The conversation was actually pleasant. She didn’t know we may not get acceptance letters until June. She was upset to hear that because orientation is usually held in June!??? I don’t know if this is good or bad news, but I wanted to share. :(

ok, my husband does state college benefits for the military and works alot with the different colleges in md. he called yesterday on my behalf to be told just what everyone is being told they should have seat fees posted by the end of may and letters out in early june. he asked what was the hold up and they told him they have not yet completed folders or mailing out pink cards for this up coming class. who is working on this a snail, because they seem to be moving very very slow. so here we are yet again sitting and waiting sitting and waiting this is killing me:lol2:

I would have thought Gwen would be more in the know. I guess orientation will be pushed back? Who knows, I just hope they finish their folders or whatever it is they're doing and send the letters out. People need to know, this is ridiculous. I'm glad I have all of my stuff together regarding shots, titers and CPR, and of course the funds for the seat fee and other things to be paid for, but some people don't - some people need time to take care of everything and the longer they take, the less time people have. :-( I really feel for those people.

Maybe we should complain, but to who? And would it even make a difference? I am so mad! I like to have all of my ducks in a row.

I'm sure complaining won't help. They need to update their website though because one place says 4-6 weeks and another says 6-8 weeks. So based on one place, we should have already found out - and the other, we should be finding out soon. LOL. False information.

A friend in the nursing program reminded me that no one is going to give us a straight answer so we should just keep stalking our accounts for the seat fee. Sounds like a plan if you ask me! I just really hope that this wait is for the good because it would suck to wait and go nuts and then be rejected. :crying2:

So true complaining will not help and stalking the account is the best we can do to get the response in a timely manner. Wishing everyone much success in the journey of waiting just don't understand why the long wait

I don't think complaining will help either; just needed to vent. I guess all we can do is stalk :(

We can complain to each other! A friend of mine is relaxed and doesn't care and doesn't seem to stalk her account so that's why I turn to this board because I know everyone else is just as nutty as I am about waiting. :-(

I'll complain and vent to anyone that'll listen!

Good morning everyone. Ok, I bit the bullet and called the Dean of Admission at CCBC Essex, Ms. Lois Simmons. First off, it was a lovely conversation. She set me straight on information...here goes...

All folders have been made for weeks now. They have been gone through at least twice, they will be reviewed two more times...they are looking at the highest possible TEAS scores and making sure that all grades have been accounted for properly.

They are experiencing issues with a new computer system which has caused glitches here and there. But they also had a new mandate come down from Maryland government regarding the In-County Tution for Non-County residents. The reimbursement changed and so they had to stop the admission process in order to contact those affected by the change.

She believes that they will be able to get notifications out by end of May but made no promises. She said they are doing the best they can at this time. I believed her.

She was forthright and was frustrated by the misinformation that areas in her office were giving out.

I hope this helps. I feel a bit better knowing that I got the information straight from the top!
