CCAC Prospective Nursing Students Fall 2015

Hi everyone! I'm new here, i'm wanting to apply to CCAC nursing program in the spring for the fall 2015. Wondering if anyone else out there is in the same boat? Or can i get some advice? I'm wondering if we're allowed to turn in reccomendations etc. I'm concerned because when i first started college i didnt care about my grades so my GPA is very low right now but i have all of the pre-reqs and co-reqs out of the way except A+P 2 and micro. Hoping to take those in the Spring/Summer. Has anyone else ever gotten in with a low GPA? Also, I keep seeing things about different campuses and people saying their "Allegheny evening" or "North Day".. where do you find out those schedules?? Thanks everyone!!

Yeah i dont' have anything for drug calcs just the basic math requirements i passed long ago.

bstinel in your acceptance letter there should have been two other pages: one with math requirements and one with important dates. If all the letters went out the same, the important dates paper is green.

On the important dates there is a three day (non-mandatory) course for learning drug calculations, and then a separate date for when we will be tested on it. I'm not sure how other people found out the specifics of the passing percentage needed (it might be on that sheet, but I can't remember off-hand).

Edit: If you don't have the pages, it's possible that only the North campus sent them out. I'm not sure, but I imagine everyone got them.

Yea I just got a blue paper stating the co-requisites must be done or you got to enroll now like the Mat 108, BIO 161/162, ENG 101, and PSY 101/108.

Whitney, are you going to Allegheny? if so, maybe thats why. I'm curious now, so some students have to still take other tests in order to get into the program (even after being accepted?). I finished MAT 108 and I think thats all you need for the nursing program.

I'm going to Boyce, maybe we have to take that test later on or something. Did you get an orientation date?

i have an orientation date for 5/27. Hopefully, they won't just spring this on us? that would be really unfair lol. Anyways, me being paranoid, I just looked on Amazon for a book called math for meds and of course, dosages for dummies. if anyone else knows more information about this test, can you please let us know thank you.

How did you find out your orientation date ?

I guess every school is different. I didn't even get an orientation date. But Bstinel, that's a good idea getting those books it's better to be safe than sorry.

mk15401, I received my orientation information at the same time as my acceptance letter (sheet was yellow).

Oh okay must be different for the different campuses. All I got was my letter stating I got in, a green paper stating the other required courses and my paper to send in saying I accept my seat.

I'll tell you one thing, i faxed my letter right to the dean and i got a confirmation that it was received, but it still worries me by some chance the right person hasn't seen it.

I faxed my letter also then called to make sure it wad received and they wouldn't tell me. They said that they would call whomever they didn't hear from on thursday but if not received your seat wouldn't be lost. I also sent a paper copy in priority mail so I could track it

If not received, they would still keep your spot? I wish they would just send confirmation emails, so you know its there.
