CCAC Prospective Nursing Students Fall 2015

Published

Hi everyone! I'm new here, i'm wanting to apply to CCAC nursing program in the spring for the fall 2015. Wondering if anyone else out there is in the same boat? Or can i get some advice? I'm wondering if we're allowed to turn in reccomendations etc. I'm concerned because when i first started college i didnt care about my grades so my GPA is very low right now but i have all of the pre-reqs and co-reqs out of the way except A+P 2 and micro. Hoping to take those in the Spring/Summer. Has anyone else ever gotten in with a low GPA? Also, I keep seeing things about different campuses and people saying their "Allegheny evening" or "North Day".. where do you find out those schedules?? Thanks everyone!!

CW11 do you know how the program works for lpns starting in the 2nd semester

Do you know if all of the campuses use the same uniform/colors? I will be going to North, but we're the same size and cheap scrubs sound great!

I just graduated from CCAC, and have 3 pairs of scrubs for sale. I have 3 pairs of size small tops and bottoms, I will let them go for 10$ a piece, cheaper than Discount uniform wants.

Mk- I do not. We did not have any LPNs in our class.

Boileezers- all of the campuses use the same color. Since this is a brand new account, they will not let it send or accept PMs. Makes sense. I'm trying to think of a way we can connect without posting personal information on a message board....

Do you know about how long this PM-probationary period lasts? I would probably prefer to wait after my orientation day on May 12th (of course, I understand if you get another offer before then). Maybe I can PM by then?

Edit: If the no-PM period lasts too long, I'll just create and post a temporary Guerrilla mail address. You can email me there, and then I can reply back from my actual email.

No I didn't get anything yet.

I got accepted to Allegheny and haven't received anything yet either

So, you have to have started a certain number of threads before you can PM - they do it so that random creepers can't join and start PMing people trying to, well, be creepy ;). It was a pain when I first joined with my main profile, but 15 posts came and went real quick, so it wasn't a big deal. I just started this name so I could talk to you guys, so it would probably take a while!

BTW- My class just finished our ATI Live NCLEX review today - those letters might not mean much to you right now, but give it 2 years and everyone in your life will be so sick of hearing ATI and NCLEX that they will want to throw something at you every time you utter them!

My point is, I was exactly where you are in May of 2013. It seemed like such a long road. Way, way too far away. Guess what? It FLEW. It will seem like just yesterday you were in orientation, buying books and scrubs and shoes - enjoy the ride.

Boil- My number is 412-638-3283. Txt me.

So how did everyone's orientation go? Class schedules were literally drawn from a hat at South. I did hear that there were over 800 applications for this semester so YAY to everyone that got in. Seems like a ton of things to do in very little time. Anyone here in the south evening program?

Did you get your 1st or 2nd choice when it came to your schedule? I'm anxious, Boyce's orientation is May 26 but I got the packet to start the certified background stuff, it does seem a bit overwhelming.

There were no choices when it came to scheduling classes. All of the schedules were printed out in advance. They were then mixed up like a deck of cards and someone came around the room and you picked one. What you got is it. No changing or adjusting. Now I'm in the South evening weekend program so I'm not sure how Boyce handles things. Could be different for you. Evening program students have clinicals on Sat from 630am-230pm. Day program can have clinicals at any time.
