Hi everyone! I'm new here, i'm wanting to apply to CCAC nursing program in the spring for the fall 2015. Wondering if anyone else out there is in the same boat? Or can i get some advice? I'm wondering if we're allowed to turn in reccomendations etc. I'm concerned because when i first started college i didnt care about my grades so my GPA is very low right now but i have all of the pre-reqs and co-reqs out of the way except A+P 2 and micro. Hoping to take those in the Spring/Summer. Has anyone else ever gotten in with a low GPA? Also, I keep seeing things about different campuses and people saying their "Allegheny evening" or "North Day".. where do you find out those schedules?? Thanks everyone!!
Allegheny Day students didn't get to pick their schedules either. You go in and they are printed off for you already. We signed off on them, signed a change of major/program form, and bought some scrubs. Other than sharing why we want to become nurses, that was the gist of registration. On a side note, I have been trying to get in touch with Mrs. Bey about a requirement on Certified profile and have had no such luck in reaching her at all. Anyone else having this issue?
Is there anyone who did the nursing program in Fall of 2014 and didn't make it but got accepted again for the fall 2015. I am so confused about the clinical requirements. Is anyone getting answers about your tb and the titers?
No. I've called, emailed, and even stopped by in the last 3 weeks to get in touch with those in charge due to getting my tb tests in April- instead of May. After no luck, I called the Dean of Nursing's office and spoke to the secretary who told me that the Nursing office just needs to approve it and, if I don't hear from that office by next monday, to call the dean's office again.
Since then, still no word or acknowledgement of my messages and the tb info is due next weekend according to the info on Cert. prof. It's a little frustrating that no one returns my calls and I'll probably have to call the Dean's office again.
Awesome!!! I was really nervous because I missed North's registration meeting; I originally registered for South campus but managed to find a spot at North due to a living situation mishap. So I don't know anyone from North and I figured this might be a good way to meet people with the same schedule before orientation !
I don't really know anyone from North either, so we're in the same boat. I had taken a few of the prereqs at Allegheny, since it was closer to my work. I did just take the Drug Calc class at North, so I got to talk to a few other people, but honestly everyone was pretty quiet. I think we were all nervous!
