Hi everyone! I'm new here, i'm wanting to apply to CCAC nursing program in the spring for the fall 2015. Wondering if anyone else out there is in the same boat? Or can i get some advice? I'm wondering if we're allowed to turn in reccomendations etc. I'm concerned because when i first started college i didnt care about my grades so my GPA is very low right now but i have all of the pre-reqs and co-reqs out of the way except A+P 2 and micro. Hoping to take those in the Spring/Summer. Has anyone else ever gotten in with a low GPA? Also, I keep seeing things about different campuses and people saying their "Allegheny evening" or "North Day".. where do you find out those schedules?? Thanks everyone!!
I didn't get in. Apparently I have an F on my transcript at CCAC from 11 years ago that dropped my GPA below what I needed even though I had 30 credits transfer in with a 3.5 GPA. Looks like I'm not making it this time and now I'm so upset they wouldn't have brought it to my attention sooner that I may just look elsewhere. Good luck to you all!
Sorry to hear that. Was it a science that you failed? The only advice I can give you is to take that class over or choose 1 or 2 classes over the summer to boost your GPA. Apply again in the fall for spring 2016 at Allegheny campus. There are several other schools out there too. I know a lot of people that have looked into Mercy and Shadyside. Best of luck to you!

Also study critical thinking because if you are not a good critical thinker you could fail you test because the question are hard and tricky. If you are able to download the NCLEX questions app to your phone and practice the question cause most of the exams are NCLEX style test questions.
Hi there. What do you mean about this drug calc exam? When does it take place?
Not sure we're able to do anything until after the orientation next month. In the meantime I'll be studying nursing math. If you get less than a 92% on your drug calc examine after the 2nd try your out of the program.
bstinel in your acceptance letter there should have been two other pages: one with math requirements and one with important dates. If all the letters went out the same, the important dates paper is green.
On the important dates there is a three day (non-mandatory) course for learning drug calculations, and then a separate date for when we will be tested on it. I'm not sure how other people found out the specifics of the passing percentage needed (it might be on that sheet, but I can't remember off-hand).
Edit: If you don't have the pages, it's possible that only the North campus sent them out. I'm not sure, but I imagine everyone got them.

Some of the letters that were sent out were mistakes. Mine said day when in fact it should have stated evening weekend. Amber Reed confirmed this with an email to a few others also.
