Please feel free to post anything here related to the CCAC nursing application, TEAS scores, GPA, etc.
So I'm new to the thread and I have a couple question!!!Is there a way to get updates on when letters are mailed?
Can someone explain the points system?!?!
There is no points system the original poster who made that comment was confusing the extra gpa "points" you can get for completing A&P 1, 2 and micro. For these classes you can earn extra GPA points. If you get an A in all 3 you can earn a maximum GPA of 6.25 to apply to the program with. That would be with a GPA of 4.0 + the extra 2.25 GPA points(.75 for each A). Please look on page 10 of this link to find the part of the admmisons packet that discusses this. https://www.ccac.edu/uploadedFiles/Pages/Academics/Programs_and_Disciplines/Nursing/Nursing%20packet%20spring%2019.pdf
Also if you want to get an update on the letter you can email the Nursing Admission coordinator. The moderators here do not wish for us to post her name so please find her email on page 7 of the link I posted above.
If you applied by priority, letters are "supposed" to be sent by today September 15th, but from prior CCAC forums for spring admission it looks like letters arrive between the final week of September and first week in October. If you didn't apply by priority I'm sure you will receive an email shortly advising when non-priority admission decisions will be made.
So everyone,
I know we are expecting the letters to come late but I did want to let you know that you can sign up for informed delivery on the usps website and they will have scans of mail coming to you that day. I will be checking daily in the mornings so I kind of have a hint of what day it will be arriving!
Best of luck to everyone and please share when you get the letter if you don't mind

I had signed up for informed delivery before I moved recently and unfortunately it not eligible in my area so yes please let us know if you get anything. Per the email that I think everyone got yesterday Amber said:
"Dear Applicants,
I hope you all are staying dry on this very rainy day! I just wanted to provide you all with an update on the notification letters. We are gearing up to start sending them out starting tomorrow(9/18). I apologize as I thought we would have them out last week. But they will start to go out tomorrow.
Please understand that there are hundreds of letters. The letters will be mailed out over a period of a few days. Thus, some will get their letters before others. "
So no one freak out if you don't get yours on the same day as others lol
I applied late-ish (August 8th, still priority but still later) and my last name is at the back of the alphabet.. so unless they're working backwards or in some other order I'm not planning to get my letter until next week lol. Good luck everyone! They're almost here!
apparently if it's a large packet, its an acceptance, and a standard envelope is a denial, at least from what I've heard from past programs. There were also many many instances where letters and packets were lost in the mail! I would wait until the first week in October before emailing her if you did not receive anything. I wish everyone the best of luck! I can't sign up for informed delivery either

You heard this from ccac students, or a completely different program?

I don't think that is true. From what I've read, the packet comes second because it's the info that explains how to get your clearances. From previous threads I've read and from the CCAC nursing catalog that I've read, I think the packet comes next. However, you are right about packed and letters not coming through properly. Best of luck!
as per last semesters nursing board:
everyone who is accepted received 2 packets
the first (acceptance packet) provides general acceptance info
-those that were not accepted received a small standard envelope containing a rejection letter and appeal papers
those who are accepted then later receive another packet, containing paperwork that must be completed prior to the start of the program
this very well may have changed, but I'm hoping to keep my eyes peeled for a packet hahah
also for LPN-RN, the letters last semester were not sent out for about 2 weeks after the regular rn program letters! Looks like i have some waiting to do
Would be awesome if all of our letters came tomorrow great way to start the weekend... but I'm still betting on next week.. hopefully early.. I've been hiding this from my family for a year, moved to a new place to downsize and prepare without them knowing and lying about going to school for business to surprise them lol can't wait to get this off my chest! ... assuming I get in of course....
