Please feel free to post anything here related to the CCAC nursing application, TEAS scores, GPA, etc.
I know no one has posted here in a while but I was just accepted to for the LPN-RN bridge for Allegheny Evenings/Weekends which basically puts me in with the Spring 2019 Co-hort as I skip out the first semester. I was hoping to make some contacts with anyone who is in that program currently so I'm not completely lost when I start in August.
Hi Charity! Congrats on your acceptance :) I'm an LPN that was accepted this past spring into the Boyce Fast Track program, so I started in January and will finish this December (hopefully!) I work full time and go to school full time and have found it to be mostly manageable as long as you have a flexible job. I know a lot varies from campus to campus, and Boyce is known for being particularly difficult. Not sure about Allegheny. I have classes 2-3 days a week and 1-2 days of clinical as well depending on semester. Right now I'm doing 2 12's on Sat/Sun for clinical for 4 weeks. As an LPN I remember feeling pretty lost at first, as everyone else already had the swing of things down from previous semesters there, but you'll catch on! We have a dose calc exam before each semester (sometimes in the middle of the semester too) in which you have to score a 92% on or you do not continue into the program. 2 attempts. I've found this the most difficult as I'm TERRIBLE at math. Stay on top of your assignments and get the little stuff out of the way first! CoursePoint is my best friend, and ATI is terrible. You will make it!! Best of luck

Thank you so much for the information. I actually do well on dosage calculations (drip rates not so much) but solid on most dosage calculating. I am concerned about being thrown in with the class that has already formed their ties and know the instructors etc. My job is Mon - Fri 8-4. Are there many days they require you to be available during those times? My job is understanding but if it's frequent it could become a problem. What is the point of saying the program is evening/weekend if they schedule stuff on week days? Hope it won't be an issue.
