Any idea when applications will start being accepted. As of yesterday, there is nothing posted yet.
@Kwolfgn sorry for not responding any earlier, I didn't see this until now. Applications for the nursing school should be available on July 1 (: It is recommended that you apply for the school first and send in your transcripts asap beforehand if you are not a CCAC student already. I'm currently waiting for my transcripts to be evaluated and just set up a virtual appointment with an academic advisor for next week (I'm applying as an out-of-state), hope my courses are transferrable and that things go well. I'll keep you updated.
Feel free to share any TEAS scores or other prerequisites you have taken, I will share mines.
Thanks. I keep checking for the dates apps will be accepted. Nothing listed for Spring yet. I am enrolled with CCAC and have my A&P 1 and 2 done. I have most of the co-requisites done as well. My GPA is 3.7 and i am finishing up chemistry in the next few weeks. I think my TEAS was a 78 but i have been told they dont actually count the score just that it has been taken. That being said I scored a 98 on the math portion and an 85 in the science part so it wasn't all bad. Ha.
I believe I will have finished ALL of my prerequisites once I finish my chemistry course. I am currently taking an allied health chem course designed for nurses. In our school we call it Intro to Chem, Organic, and Biochem. It says on the requirements that they accept Intro Chem, but I hope this class will be given credit, I am working really hard for that class (Our school is in a quarter system, in case you ask why I am not taking a vacay).
I took Reading/Writing remedial courses, English Comp, Intro Bio, and College Algebra. I also went the extra mile and took all of A&P, Microbiology, Intro Psych, Dev Psych, and Human Nutrition. I will also be taking Intro Soc online during the summer even if it isnt required for CCAC bc I know other schools require Sociology. With that said though, CCAC is my priority school since I'd like to move and live in Pittsburgh (: I currently have a 3.6 GPA.
I hope that you are right about the TEAS, I got a 70% on my first try and a 76% on my second. I could have gotten an 80 if my reading scores were high, but I did do good in the math and science sections. Just hoping that we all have a chance, I worked my butt off trying to finish prereqs for 3 years now
But yeah, I am looking forward to applying. BTW is a Net ID the same as a Student ID or are those two different? I just got my Student ID in the mail.

Yes, they are different. You will create a net ID which will allow you to log into sites like CCACCentral where you can see financial Aid/ account info, class schedules, register things like that, and then also blackboard for online courses... or courses that just use blackboard to track grades and post quizzes.
Here's a link with more info

I wanted to give you guys an update-
I finally had my transcripts evaluated from out-of-state and was sent a mail on which courses are transferrable. I am happy to say I got all of my nursing prerequisites. I would show it here but I'm kinda new to this site so I'm not so sure of how to post it, but if you really want to see them, you can always email me (I'll give an email address if someone here wants to see them, it could help another person somehow).
I also sent in my TEAS scores electronically through the ATI website and chose "CCAC North ADN." But I don't know if I am supposed to send it through there. How did you guys send your TEAS scores if you already have? I never attended CCAC before in case you ask. Also emailed and called a few people a few days ago, but they all say they don't have access to the scores except for (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). I even tried to email and call (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), but I have not gotten any replies whatsoever. She is probably really busy so I understand if she doesn't respond right away, but I am hoping to get some response from her in a few days. It really makes me anxious not knowing
Can anyone tell me what the real difference is between the priority deadline and the final deadline in September? I should have a 4.0 institutional GPA at the CCAC I'm once summer is over... I was going to wait until spring to apply for the next fall.... but I think I may just apply for this spring... I haven't taken A&P though so I'm worried about the science part of the TEAS... I'm taking A&P this fall and the plan was to take the TEAS after and then apply for the fall fall start... the minimum requirement is only a 58%... but I'm trying to decide if I should just study for the next 3 weeks and just go for it and try my best in the TEAS to try do the priority... or if I should take a few more weeks and just have everything by the final Deadline in September...thoughts?

Hey, MurseSmith,
Just telling you now, cause if you try and post on any other forum, you are going to get slaughtered for your name - it is not only illegal (per state and federal law) but against TOS on this site to refer to yourself as a nurse before you've passed your NCLEX. I went to CCAC, (years ago) which is why I still check these forums, and I don't want you to get the bashing I've seen others go through.
My advice? Change your username now, before it becomes an issue. You're not a "murse" you're a "murse hopeful" or something - BTW, many men (and women) take great offense at the "murse" moniker..."male nurse" is not PC, we are all nurses...again, just trying to save you some grief.
To any of you CCAC hopefuls, please take heed, and remove "nurse," "RN" or anything else nurse related from your username. You'll get banned. And you'll totally get WHY once you pass NCLEX.
Priority deadline is if you applied to the program before August 15 and have all the minimum prerequisites and your TEAS score. You must have your TEAS score before August 15. I think this is where you get an acceptance letter a little earlier.
Final deadline on September 15 means that you are still allowed to apply but are not prioritized (you may not get your first choice of campus) I think it's if there's extra room this is where the September deadline comes from but I'm not sure.
Personally I would suggest finishing all prerequisites and other support courses so that you will only need to worry about the Nursing courses. It also increases your chances of getting into the nursing program if you have already completed A&P and Microbio (These are the extra courses you can take for extra points). But if you have mostly A's in your prerequisites and have a high TEAS score or high GPA, you may just boost your chances!
I studied three days before the test and managed to pull a 76%, so three weeks is more than enough time. Tbf though I took my prereqs before TEAS, but I think you can still do okay if you know the big picture of A&P. I just used Mometrix videos on YouTube to prepare (and it's free!)
I wish everyone good luck!
If anyone knows when acceptance letters will come out for priority deadline, please let everyone know! I'm still waiting for (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to respond to my email about the status of my TEAS and nursing application (has she received it yet or not?). I just hope I can get a response from her before the deadline.

Thanks! Yeah I won't have any of the GPA boosting sciences to help unfortunately... but I'll only have A&P 2 and micro left after this fall.. so I should be able to complete those in the summer session(at least micro.. may take A&P in the spring) so that I can focus on the nursing courses. From what I'll seen in last spring class and their post on here looks like letters started coming in between the last week of September and the first 2 weeks of October here's the thread

I passed my TEAS!!!!! After 2 weeks of self teaching A&P(still didn't do great) I pulled out a 79.3!!! Thank god that's over with! Now I can submit my application ðŸ˜
