Please feel free to post anything here related to the CCAC nursing application, TEAS scores, GPA, etc.

Since I'm not from CCAC, I have no clue what my CCAC GPA is (I am applying as a transfer and not all of the courses I took have been transferred since I have too many units). However, my current overall GPA is a 3.6. Hoping that is enough to get accepted. And yeah true, waiting could be worth the while, assuming we don't face rejection
I did apply to other schools including a university, but I have yet to hear back from them. As for UPMC Shadyside, I'm not sure if I want to apply there since I have not took an ethics course for prerequisites. Not to mention they have a lower NCLEX pass rate so I don't know if I really want to go over there.

Hi, I know the email said that notification letters will be sent out by September 15 but does that mean we will receive it by then or that they'll send it out by the 15th and we will receive it the following weekdays?
Does this mean we will find out before the 15th or after?

Hi! I'm an LPN I applied for the spring 2019 boyce fast track lpn to RN program. The sept 15th deadline only means usually they start mailing the letters by then. CCAC is almost ALWAYS late with their letters, and I really wouldn't be expecting anything until the end of September, maybe even beginning of October. I know from experience haha. I remember stalking my mail man for DAAYYSSS after the "expected date" and it did not arrive until almost 3 weeks after. I wish everyone the best of luck getting in!
I agree with Chorays comment. From the threads from the past two years looks like it's usually either the last week in September or first week in October that the letters are received. Hopefully they're on time this year, but I'm setting that time frame in my head so I don't get too hopeful. For now I'll let the others in the household check the mail for me lol what campus is your first choice?
I chose Boyce but I'm worried because of this and past threads about CCAC nursing, a lot of people either didn't get into Boyce by choice or didn't get accepted into Boyce.
I chose Boyce as well. I wish they would break down the TEAS pass rates and completion rates by campus. I know 2 people in my A&P class who are applying for Boyce also, but everyone else I know at CCAC's program is at Allegheny or south.
Are you worried more about not getting in, or the quality of the program? If you don't mind what were your stats at application?

Ok so here's the thing. I've read so many comments on how they pick and choose. I'm so stressed. All I know is that I just graduated from high school this year. During the summer I finished psychology and Bio 110. My GPA was 4.0 for the summer. This current semester I'm taking A&P1, Human Growth & D, Eng Comp 1, and Interm Alg. These are all prerequisite for the nursing program. I've read there's a point system? I tried to add up my points but since I just graduated from high school, I didn't have the time to finish all of my prerequisites. So my points are low I guess. I did everything in the application process. I'm just worried that they won't pick me since I'm doing my prerequisites now rather than earlier. It's not like I had time to. I did take courses over the summer but nothing that's on their point system. I think.

Wondering why so many people with 4.0 GPAs are applying to a community college nursing program? Why not go to a real university make some real money, and leave the CCAC programs to the "average" 3.0 people and spread some of the wealth. Geez. And what's really funny is you're on here "stressed" if you're getting in. Like really?

Yes, we are applying to a community college, because as you can tell by our 4.0 GPAs we are intelligent enough to know it's one of the greatest programs in the area and we don't have to break the bank and be left with unnecessary debt. Also, I have two kids and work full time. Flexibility is key and I can't go live on a campus somewhere. I think it's a no brainer that the best option was CCAC. We ARE gonna make real money. In fact CCAC nursing students are extremely desirable to the big name hospitals in Pittsburgh. It doesn't matter where you went to school as long as it was accredited and you did well. Yes, we are stressed. For some of us, we've been working on prerequisites for the past couple of years to get to this point. It's a big deal and we want to be accepted just like anyone else. Just because it's community doesn't make it any easier?? So I don't get why you'd even post this. What are you gaining? Because I'm really not bothered by your words, but you seem to be uneducated on these things and closed minded about other peoples' situations and how ccac has accommodated the opportunity to actually give us a future.
Troll much. Lol looks like knappk2 handled it, but thanks for the feedback! I hope you are as excited as were are waiting for our letters. Grab your popcorn and watch quietly from your seat.
