Hello All,
I am starting a new thread for the upcoming application process for CCAC fall 2014 nursing admissions. I applied for the sping 2014 cohort and was declined due to my gpa, but now I'm hopeful for my first choice for the fall! I can't wait to get the application process started and wish the rest of you the best of luck!!
I recieved my acceptance letter exactly 1 month after the dead line. Each semester may be diff simply because they have more applicants in the fall then the spring the cut off GPA for this spring was a 4.1. They only had 160 seats 40 at CalU 40 at allegheny and 80 at Boyce all day programs and there were 700 applicants. My gpa at the time of applying was a 3.75 (due to 2 B's in classes I took back in 07) i jumped to a 4.5 with only A&P 1 done in which I received an A for that class. I had straight A's in everything and most of my classes was transferred in from my bachelors degree I just had to complete my sciences. They really look at your grades so getting A's and B's really do count.
Good luck to all of you! I finished the program in May 2013 and started working as a nurse in June. I went to the Allegheny campus. My daughter will graduate from the South Campus program in May of this year. While the programs were slightly different, both are good. I felt that I was as prepared to be a nurse as any program can make you. Once you get into a job you realize that nursing school can't possibly prepare you for everything!
Went to check out the facility yesterday and ran into a former A&P II classmate who was in the program, 2nd semester. She said that last year she received the acceptance letter during the first week of April, so let us hope it may be as soon as 1-2 weeks from now. The CCAC site does say it could be as far off as May 1st though.

Thanks for all the information mrsralph! Do you remember how long it took for you to get your acceptance letter? And the GPA needed to be accepted to the program.
Thanks :)
