    CCAC Nursing Students- help!

Hey I am currently in the fast track program, the first 2 semesters you are at school 3 days/week, well 2 class days & 1 clinical..the first 6 weeks of summer semester you will have 2 class/lab days & 2 clinical days so it gets pretty busy! I'm not sure about the rest of the program yet however there are many people that are managing to work full time, until summer starts then they may need to make some adjustments

You will use your ATI books throughout the semester, however the teachers will make products available on the website, which is only a couple practice tests and videos that you have to watch to learn how to navigate the website. Then you will use the website more towards the 14th week when you take the ati test! I was just asking about which books you need because I need to buy a code from the bookstore but I already have the books from last semester! I thought I needed to buy new books I was so mad!!

CCAC Prospective Nursing Students Fall 2015

I am in the Boyce fast track program, my GPA when I applied was a 4.5 and I did not have eng 102 done or my humanities elective, they say it's an 18 month program but we started August 2014 and were done december 2015 so really it's like 16 months, boyce isn't a bad program, just a little unorganized but I have nothing to compare it to, I'm just thankful I'm there and had the opportunity to become a nursing student! Good luck to everyone applying! Don't stress it because once you turn in that application all you will think about is if your accepted or not, which takes a month or 2 to hear back I believe!

It's mostly figuring out the drug dose the question is asking and filling in the line on the syringe, and a couple conversions between household and metric conversions, and some stuff about insulin! I just passed my first semester! Thank god, it's been a bumpy ride but I am anxious for semester 2, just stay focused and good luck to everyone! Take it 1 day at a time!!

It's a 25 question test, you will have weekly assignments to do every week leading up to the test so you learn what will be on the tested, if you fail the first test you can take it again, if you fail the second you are dismissed from the program, it's nothing to worry about, it's easy!!

Although I am in the boyce program so I'm not sure, books may be different.

Fundamentals of Nursing: the art and science of nursing care, author is Taylor something. There is a clinical skills book that runs with that book, then there is Health Assessment, author is Jensen, it has a green apple on the cover, there is 2 lab books that go with that book as well, then the ATI package I believe can only be bought at the bookstore, as well as the tote you will need to purchase with nursing supplies, and when I get home I can tell you the rest. Those are the ones I've utilized the most for the first semester.

EnjoyCPR is held at the Doubletree hotel in Monroeville, it is $64 and the instructor was awesome and very informative, cpr classes fill up fast everywhere so I would sign up for that sooner then later.

And if you have your titers drawn and you show immunity you do not need vaccinated again so that helps. I believe I had titers drawn for that price above actually, then I only had to pay for tb at medexpress

Medexpress charges $25 for the TB Test if you tell them you are a ccac nursing student, and the Heath department is pretty reasonable in Oakland for the rest of the immunizations, I think I paid $112 for all except my 2nd and 3rd hep B bc I got them at my work for free.
