  1. Hi there, I'm in Boyce in my first semester and just dropped by to give some info.. once you've been accepted and confirm your seat, you'll have to hang tight until you get your welcome packet of basic info and instructions on medical/clearances to complete. Get started on that ASAP because there's always some kind of snag with it (ie CPR classes fill up, you can't get your TB test if you just had a Hep vax, your background check gets lost in the mail, etc). You'll also get info on the date for your class schedule lottery (when you show up to pick your schedule at random, about a month before class starts) and also your orientation, which is usually a week or so before classes begin -- this is literally the only info you'll get until you show up for orientation. While that's frustrating as all hell, it sort of makes sense. You get all your info at once, and all your questions get answered by your nursing instructors, who are pretty much the only reliable sources on any of it. In the meantime, once you get your packets, just start ordering your scrubs and getting those clearances done. It's exciting to get the uniform, even if you've got a while until you start. Congratulations, hope to see some folks around Boyce eventually!
  2. Okay, I feel a little bit better then. I'm only halfway done the readings for class, but I think I'm doing too many notes/practice quizzes on prep-u.
  3. Does anyone have all the assignments and mastery review modules done? I can't access ATI/their tech support has been closed when I call and I'm panicking that they're going to check for completion.
  4. Word, thanks. It might do to also make a private group on there so it doesn't show up on google searches, but it doesn't seem like there are a ton of people on here to direct to one. Maybe once classes start up we could get one going.
  5. Is the tote bag thing really required, and is it just a tote bag or does it come with materials? if there's nothing that comes with it, for that price it had better be full-grain leather.
  6. I did disclose my prescriptions. One is for ADHD and one is for occasional migraine headaches, but neither should interfere with clinicals as most of my migraines are during sleep hours, and the medication is taken during those hours -- hence, a passing physical as I'm not limited from performing clinical duties in any way. The employee at Quest that did my test said if it comes up positive they'll call and either get contact info for my pharmacy or doctor and handle it through them and then deem the test "negative" once they have documentation, so no big deal. Apparently I didn't need to haul my orificenal to the test -___-
  7. They will care, you have to show proof of prescription. It just depends on how they go about doing that--on the testing center's end, a third party (cert. profile) or ccac.
  8. Does anyone know if we need to bring our red-flag medications in with us to the test, submit pictures to Certified Profile, or if they'll call and do it separately when it shows up on the drug test? I take Adderall and Fiorecet with Codeine so I know my test is going to come back with stuff on it, but every place is different.
  9. Edit: Oops, just read that it's the 11th, but the time/location info would still be great if anyone can post, thanks!
  10. Can anyone post the time/date and location for our orientation? I'm on vacation and can't look at the letter or my calendar at home, and forgot to enter to into my phone calendar >__ starting to have typical start of term panic setting in, multiplied by 100.
  11. Nevermind, found it! That certified background website is a labyrinth.
  12. Has anyone figured out what the "Health Career Program Pre-Entrance Medical Examination Form" is, or how we can obtain it?
  13. Oh, I meant that you can check on the ccac central website. Mine didn't show up on the registration paper either.
  14. Oh, awesome. Someone at the school said they were white and we were all worried about it. BTW, the professors for my registered courses are showing up on ccac central, so I was able to look them up on ratemyprofessor.com Looks like a mixed bag...
  15. So, I tried on my scrubs but forgot to ask -- what colour are we supposed to purchase? All white or...? Btw I got option 1, wednesday clinical :]
