CCAC Fall 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hello All,

I am starting a new thread for the upcoming application process for CCAC fall 2014 nursing admissions. I applied for the sping 2014 cohort and was declined due to my gpa, but now I'm hopeful for my first choice for the fall! I can't wait to get the application process started and wish the rest of you the best of luck!!

I'm new too. I'm waiting anxiously for my letter. My gpa before added points was 3.55. I got a C in A&P1, a B in micro and an A in A&P2. I cant remember how the point system works.

A = +.75 B = +.50, im so anxious! the 2013 fall started getting their acceptance letters by april 11 so maybe next week!

I have a 4.0 with ccac classes and with added points I should have a 5.5.

I have a 4.0 at CCAC (3.3 from my previous degree in Biology) and a 6.25 with the added points. Good luck to everybody!

Wow, I was feeling pretty good with a 3.8 and then added points for A&P1 and micro, but now getting concerned after seeing the two above me! Great job you two! Crossing my fingers!

You should be good with 3.8 plus added points. When I applied last semester I had a 3.0 from my undergrad and I had only a&p1 done so I had a 3.75. The cut off last semester for a place was a 3.9 (I think) so with your added points you would have made the cutoff. Now this semester may be slightly more or less competitive, but I would definitely not get discouraged with your gpa where it is.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this site, but I'm glad to have come across it. I applied to the fall nursing program at the north campus as a transfer student with a a 3.7+ gpa. How do the extra points factor in?? I've finished all non nursing classes with the exception of English 2 and micro . I'm such a nervous wreck waiting to to hear if I got in. I've been a CNA for almost ten years and I can't wait to finally be a nurse! Good luck to you all!

The extra points are for A&P1 A&P2 and Micro. If you get an A in those courses on the first try then add .75 per A to your gpa. If you get a B on the first try add .5 to your gpa per grade. So if you have a 3.7 and you got A's in A&p1 and 2 then your gpa with added points will be 5.2. Online in the admission info packet they have a more detailed system of extra points so you can check there.

Did anyone hear anything yet? I'm so anxious!!

Nothing yet. I was hoping to see something by the end of last week.

The guy at south campus that I gave my nursing application told me today that review could take up until the middle of May so we might be waiting a while longer!

I hope we don't have to wait that long. That's gonna be torture. It's already torture!
