Career goals for the Nursing field?

As far as what area of nursing I hope to be in, I really have no idea. I don't want to limit myself and say that I only want to work in pediatrics, when I may end up loving the ER during clinicals.

If you mean education-wise, I hope to get into my ADN program this year (Fall 2011), then go on to get my BSN and maybe be a Nurse Practitioner in the future. Again, I try not to limit my thinking on this though, because I really have no idea how I'll feel about it after nursing school or even after I've worked at my first job for a while.

I want to teach and do research. So, I will be getting my BSN April of 2011. I plan on attending graduate school in the Spring of 2012 (MSN in Nursing Education). After that is complete, then a PhD in Nursing Science.

Im just starting pre reqs for nursing school right now. Ill be taking a 4 year BScN Program.

As of today I would say that I would love to work in L&D or Peds. Although like it has been said you realy don't know your passion untill you have given it a try. Who knows I may end up hating L&D and peds.

I think I want to go into Pediatric nursing or ICU but I might change my mind.

I know for sure that I want to teach nursing though so I want to apply to grad schools after getting an RN though not RIGHT after, maybe like 10 years in my RN career.

My plan is to be a Forensic Nurse. I especially want to help out child abuse victims and/or rape victims. No better calling. Also, during the Summers I want to travel. Especially to India and maybe Africa. I could do some volunteer work on the side should I feel the need. Nursing is awesome that way - there is so much to do!
