Requests for help with cardiac conditions...

  1. There has been an abundance of people on the bb posting and requesting advice about cardiac symptoms. What disturbs me is that when it happens it is usually not a member I recognize, and usually someone who has just joined. This makes me wonder if these posts are even from nurses.

Please, do not come to this forum to request a diagnosis, it is inappropriate to even ask. Please see your doctor, then if you wish to discuss your personal medical issues, feel free.

Please pardon my inquiry. It was just a question. I am a nursing student. Forgive me if you did not
recognize my name. I will not post again, like I said in my first post, I know you could not give me a diagnosis, I am not that ignorant. But like I said, I will not post again. I will say the people on the general nursing board are more welcoming.

    Oh wb,
    Dont get all hurt!
I think the Hoolihan has a valid point.
Feel free to post away but remember that this BB does not replace your MD's advice.

I apologize that I didn't recognize your name. You are unfortunately the "straw that broke the camel's back". Please don't take it personally. Sometimes when we are off, we really like to be "off" that's all. Like I said, it has been more than one in the last month, and I suspect there may be someone posting under more than one name re the same thing. If that does not apply to you, you have nothing to worry about.

PS, if I had seen this on the general board, I would post the same thing. The forums are all part of allnurses, and I read many forums.

    Dear Hoolahan:
No problem. I did not consider that other people had been writing in so much. Also I never thought
about the wanting to be "off" issue. I can understand about reaching your limit. I guess that the phrase "inappropriate" really struck me in a not-so-good fashion. Anywho, no big deal, all is well and thank you for responding.

I don't know about all the other people who have posted and I have not posted on this particular forum myself. But I have posted on other forums asking questions about conditions particular to loved ones, JUST BECAUSE it was in a specialty such as OB or NICU that I was unfamiliar with as a caridac nurse. Not to get speficic medical advice, but to hear what those "in the trenches" have to offer as info on these conditons to supplement what I found myself in research and what the docs say, or to supplement second hand "the doc said......." from non=medical family members whom I decided had hopelessly garbled what was said.
