Hello,
For various reasons; I have been derailed in my study planning, mainly the overwhelming amount of material became too much...any advice on the best whay to get back on track?
Has anyone been in this situation? I need a plan that will help me stay on task.
Thanks

You just have to force through it. Use studygroup 101. And Do not be afraid to take the exams. I am in a similar situation with Chronicity. It just seems to be so much material. However I will be taking the exam Mid July.

The way I remained on track was to pay for my exam and schedule the date with Pearson Vue before I even began to study. That gave me a deadline and I never changed my date because, had I been sitting in a classroom, I wouldnt have been able to change it. So, if I could stick to 'test day' for a bunch of strangers, why not do it for myself? The same day of completing an exam, I went home, scheduled the next exam with Pearson Vue, gathered my notes together for that exam and set them aside for studying 'tomorrow', then went out to celebrate having just passed an exam. That was my routine for each exam, with the only break from studying being on exam day only, until ALL exams were a thing of the past. It worked for me.use this plan or find one that is suitable for you. But the key is to stick to it.
You might want to check the chat boards on the EC website to partner up with students at the same point as you are and you all can keep one another focused. My 'circle' had about 5 members that were in contact regularly; like everyday, several times a day when we really became frustrated or burnout with exams. We talked exams, notes, kids, marriage, divorce, what we were going to buy with that first RN paycheck, etc. It was great!!!!! It kept us focused and moving forward as our little mini team. And we all finished within two months of each other, because of the support? Maybe. Because of jealousy and not wanting to be left behind? Probably! whatever the reason, we were all eligible to attend the July graduation together.
Even though this program is guided by self-discipline and self-motivation, you really don't have to do it alone. Good luck!

Agreed! Very well said!!
Great advice, thank you so much, I guess I really already know what I need to do, but learning how others are making it through may help me create a plan that will work for me, and the support is so helpful.
Best Wishes

If you can't start at all, just say "I'm going to just do one item or 5 minutes worth". In any task, the hardest part can be that first step. Once you get started it's easier. I just had to do that, I had a few weeks off between LS3 and FCCAs, had gotten off that study train.
Good luck.

I have been on this journey for 5 years, it is truly self-paced. Sometimes finances, sometimes fear and sometimes overwhelming subject matter got in my way but you can always pick it up again, at your pace don't worry about what others are doing. I got a CPNE date yesterday and I am going through that fear element again but I'm going to power through at my pace.
