Hello Fellow EC Students: LPN TO RN I am finally back pursuing my life long dream. My brief rant: My hesitation has been nothing more than fear. Fear of failure and making excuses. I have been to 4 colleges over the last 15 years and still no degree. Recently, My beloved Mother left me; unexpectedly to illness. My loss resulted in grief counseling and medication to help me through this. School being the last thing on my mind. As an only child I had to basically wipe my tears and do what needed to be done, from caring for my Mom day and night to taking over her finances, personal matters, making arrangements and everything in between. Hubby and my kids were so supportive but, I was too heart-broken to see anything but sorrow, today is a better day but I have to really fight through my mourning moments. When I finally returned to work, I didn't really care about anything but my grief. As the months have passed now; my love of nursing has finally returned, my desire to serve has returned as well. My Mother was very proud of me and I know she would want me to continue. I also realized that my Mom's life was cut short and she didn't get the opprotunity to experience all that life has to offer. I want to do this for me; I want to look life in the eye, and make my best effort to achieve all I can, while I can. I registered for A & P, Transitions and Info Lit. I am so busy now, that I don't have time to feel hopeless. Best Wishes Mae

You are right, great way to start off a new year, New goals for old dreams......I need to get on board and gett r done! Long story short, I have been here too long procrastinating, but, today I will prepare my plan of action. Thanks

Hello, For various reasons; I have been derailed in my study planning, mainly the overwhelming amount of material became too much...any advice on the best whay to get back on track? Has anyone been in this situation? I need a plan that will help me stay on task. Thanks

Hello,Hoping for some feedback. I am doing a class paper on the topic, I am writing on the employment aspects from the nurses point of view. Have 3 questions. If you have experience and time, please respond.1. How did you transition into an RN Nurse? Why did you choose ER Nursing?2. In you opinion based on your own experiences, what does it take to make it as an ER Nurse?3. Do you want to continue to work in the ER? Why or why not? If not what would you like to do next?

Hi rmarg, It's going ok so far, I am using the free content guide and the text book recommendations. I have been also comparing the sg101 guide, but to me it looks like a lot of same info simplified. The last time I attempted EC, I became overwhelmed so this time, I am just taking in small portions at a time, I am making my own notes and taking my time. What are you using to study?

I would stick to EC practice exams. I believe they are closer to the real thing than those written by for profit companies.

That's what I will be working on too, I plan on getting started this weekend.
