being admitted to the program? Im talking about the LPN to RN online program. I want to start taking the exams, but dont want to pay the $2500 to be formally admitted to the program just yet. Can I take all the exams and then be admitted without any problems? If I pass the exams, I dont see why they wouldnt except them right?

There are exams you can take when you make a request explaining why you need to. For the program, you can only take the first one prior to enrolling in the program. Another used to be waiverable for LPNs. You need to call to speak to an advisor to find out the latest policies.

You just have to pay the enrollment fee which is $895 (actually a little more, but less than $1000 I think) in order to be formally admitted. I took H&S + Transitions before enrolling. THose are the only 2.

yes you can take the health safety and transitions exams without enrolling. i think you are mistaken with the $2500 fee. it's way less than that.
good luck!

Fees are here: http://www.excelsior.edu/fees-and-tuition
Click on the "associate nursing" tab. There isn't one thing that costs $2500.

As an fyi all general edu courses can be taken with out enrolling and the 2 Nursing courses mentioned above in a previous post, Helath Safety and Transitions. I am curious where you saw the $2500.00 fee from? Maybe just a mistake but no, the enrollment has never been that much nor is it currently.
Good Luck with what you decide

I will be starting my LPN-RN ASAP.
The woman on the phone mentioned a requirement to be enrolled in order to take the Nursing Exams, but I notice here that a few can be taken without official enrollment. I would still need to send in transcripts, yes?
Since I would not need to 'enroll', would I simply schedule the exams just as I have schedule the microbiology?

Yes just like Micro- but get your transcripts and required info in ASAP, review of credits does not happen overnight or in my case even in 4 weeks but I had extra things that needed to be taken care of since I am in VA and EC required extra documents due to VA not accepting EC grads without stipulations. Good luck!
