  1. being admitted to the program? Im talking about the LPN to RN online program. I want to start taking the exams, but dont want to pay the $2500 to be formally admitted to the program just yet. Can I take all the exams and then be admitted without any problems? If I pass the exams, I dont see why they wouldnt except them right?
  2. Where do you dispose of your left over controlled substances, more specifically injectables? I know some nurses squirt the left over into the sharps container, and some down the sink and some into the trash. What I want to know is, are there federal/state laws regarding this? Do some states make it illegal to squirt down the sink for example?
  3. So this was hospital policy? Or is there some kind of state/federal guidelines for this?
  4. This may seem like a simple set of questions, but I have to ask them anyway: When wasting narcotics, there has to be a witness that is a licensed medical professional correct? Does the witness have to have the same license as the person wasting the medication? For example, can a RN waste narcotics in front of a respiratory therapist? The lowest licensed medical professional I can think of is an LPN? Do the narcotic wasting rules differ between states? Thanks for your time.
  5. Yes I've done a lot of searching, and keep coming up with conflicting data, so I would like to hear from LPNS actually working in states and what their states IV med policies are. So far, this is what I know: CA: does not allow CO: does not allow TX: does allow (except vitamin k, cardio meds) what about FL, NY, AL? Mainly im interested in what states would allow an LPN to push versed and fentanyl as I work in GI and these are the only meds I would push. Thanks for your time!
