I'm here in Texas and I made a C in A&P 1, 2 is much easier.. Don't be too upset you still can get in just make good grades the rest of the way or you can retake it to get a better grade. I got in, but had numerous certifications to boost my points. And finished all the BSN classes to get more points. If it's super competitive there, I would retake in the summer to boost my grade. Can't hurt.
Good day, melikay:
Congratulations on finishing your first year. Typical nursing programs focus on how strong you are in the core sciences - AP1, AP2, and Microbiology. "C" is just passing. Only the schools you are considering can let you know if they would be satisfied with a just passing grade in a core science. So I do recommend calling the schools you are considering applying to ask if they would accept a "C."
Thank you.
The nursing advisor at university told me if I didn't get an A in A&P II, which I was taking at the time, to take another science class and get an A to offset science gpa. You have a whole year to take one or two classes such as general biology, microbiology, general chem, algebra, and A&P II. Play with the gpa calculators to see what can be done with math/science GPA.
I would do one science at a time.
whats your overall GPA? this C just dropped my GPA from a 3.6 to a 3.1.....so ******. still waiting on my english grade which i know is an A. is there anyway my GPA can come back up to a 3.7? i feel hopeless lol
You'll need to do well in the classes you have left. Sometimes we have to take some transferable courses just to boost our GPAs.
At my college, a B- is considered a failure. You MUST have a B and above in all sciences except Chemistry, to be even considered to sit for HESI A2 exam (the petitioning process) . Again, check with the college you are transferring to, some colleges do not accept a C, some do.
All the best with your other classes.
