You need to have the legal right to work in Canada. There is no shortage of nurses in Canada.

what's the starting salary for LPN AND RN?

Unless you have some special arrangement already with immigration, that's actually rather unlikely. As for finding work, many nurses who have already graduated from Canadian nursing schools are still looking for permanent jobs.

How long is your course? You can only stay post graduate and work the same length as your course.

A work permit under the PGWPP may be issued for the length of the study program, up to a maximum of three years. A post-graduation work permit cannot be valid for longer than the student’s study program, and the study program must be a minimum of eight months in length. For example, if you graduate from a four-year degree program, you could be eligible for a three-year work permit if you meet the criteria. If you graduate from an eight-month certificate program, you would be eligible for a work permit that is valid for no more than eight months.

Stay in Canada after graduation

The main issue wold be getting a job. Many provinces are struggling at the moment and for most casual work is what most can get or part time. Very hard to get full time straight away

i haven't decide,i am thinking about a two year LPN program or a three year bachelor course,i have already got a bachelor of biology.but i want to change my career to sth pratical,as nurse.

there's a policy for internationl students to get a three years' work permission after their study,at least two years program.

i do not care where the first job i can get,i'm tired of living in the big cities.i believe working in the town will be fine,i can enjoy beautiful scenery and peaceful life

i also think about Australia,but i prefer Canada.

If you go the LPN route and then get to stay for 2 years to work where do you plan on going when it is time to leave? What will you do if you can't find a job in the first place?

I think it will be difficult to find employment in Canada unless things drastically improve. Employers prefer to hire locally, and there are many applicants. There is no nursing shortage. Rather, there's a nursing job shortage

Lori and Joanna are right. There are Canadian students who should be getting jobs and. If you look both in Canadian, American, and Australian forums its a rough time for local grads due to nursing job shortage.

No offense but we need to start employing our own first.

It won't be as easy as it used to be. I wouldn't make any life altering decisions before doing alot of research and having money saved up. A lot of dreams have been crushed because people are ill prepared because simple job market research wasn't done.

you are right,i agree with you,we are always told there's a shortage in nurse job market in canada,and students can even get a job before they graduate,that's why i came here to hear your advice,i need to hear voices from the canada local nurses.
