are we doing beneficial for us or are we just waste our money by applying nclex while waiting for the local board???? what if we never made it in local board, does CA BON deny our application?????

I woul suggest doing a search in the International forum regarding this subject. Has been asked a few times. If you have taken local boards you must declare that you have taken and either passed/failed or waiting for results. If you fail it may have a bearing on the BON as if you think about it a bit would you employ someone who can't pass local exams ??

Hi! we're on the same boat. better prepare the requirements needed for CA licensure thru examination while waiting for the results to come out.. visit their website at www.rn.ca.gov

actually nothings wrong with the application of nclex cali even u dont have a license yet..u can show ur diploma instead..but you cannot get a us license and cannot be considered as usrn (say u passed nclex) without the local board. inshort you can apply but you cannot be issued the us license without passing the phil nle 1st. unless ur an american citizen.

I dont really understand what you mean by the local boards but for me,being that i did my ADN programme in Nigeria, all i did was to apply to Ca BON,have my transcript sent from Nigeria. They approved of me to take my nclex in 4months which i did and pass.then endorsed my licence in GA.You have to apply may be by the time they get to your file, you might have gotten the licence you are talking about.goodluck

sorry, but i do not agree with what you have posted. there is no law in the us that states that someone needs to take the local exam where they are from, actually it just states that a completed set of transcripts are required. this is per us immigration. the issue only comes into play if the nurse is going to write the cgfns exam, then they need the local exam results for that in most cases.
you can actually get a license issued to you by several states before you have ever been in the us, ever. ny, nm, az and some others will actually send you a hard license without a ssn#.
and even if you are a us citizen, but trained out of the us, and wish to work in a state that still requires the cgfns exam, you will need to take that exam.
licensure and immigration are two completely separate issues. remember that anyone that comes to the us to work as an rn in most cases is coming with a green card, and that is only permanent residency, it is not citizenship. that requires five years to do.

the nle exam is not required for you to take the nclex exam, the issue becomes that you did take it. in that case, ca will not make an official decision until you present them with passing results. and as mentioned above, if not passing; why would a state want you to work there if you can't pass your local boards? again, if you never took the nle, then you would be all set, and nothing to stop or delay you.

Two year ADN programs completed out of the US usually do not qualify for immigration purposes in the US. Just wanted to make that statement clear, suspect that you already have a green card.
The local boards mean the licensing exam in your home country, in the Philippines, it is called the NLE.

Sorry Dear, you got me all wrong, well i came in with fiancee visa and has gotten my green card.
Generally ADN will not qualify you with immigration to get a green card. You have gotten yours due to a fiance visa and then the BON has done their own assessment and OK'd you for a lot relying on ADN it will not
Is it BSN that will qualify you to get green card?None will ok.You just have to be here legally or write your nclex, pass and look for some facilities that can hire you and file for green card for you.I dont seem to get what you are implying.
What I am saying is to qualify for immigration as a RN then your country training needs to meet US requirements which is a 3 year course (I know US do 2 year training and if in the US and you do that training you can qualify but generally if you do 2 years in your own country it does not meet US immigration requirements). ADN generally does not meet US requirements. There are a couple of threads in the Phillipine forum that toches this subject as some schools are saying that LPN that they train will be able to work in the US but immigration does not recognise this and states if relying on nursing for immigration you must be a RN. Things do differ if coming legally into the US with a different type of visa like fiance but then it is up to each individual BON to whether they will accept your training or not
i now understand what you mean but my general nursing in Nigeria took 3years before i passed my bord exams in Nigeria. Not 2years as you do it here in US.We did alot more than the 2yr programme could do here. That is why i was approved by CA BON to take my nclex after evaluating my transcript.I am now US-RN.
