This course shouldn't be this difficult, but for some reason I can't seem to get a good grade on any exam in this course! I am so frustrated!!!!

Psych tests can be annoying and I know a couple of good nurses who had to repeat the class. My advice would be to figure out where the exam questions are coming from and practice their questions. If it is a test bank from your text book do all the questions available in the book, check to see if they have any extras on their website and purchase a study guide which usually has extra questions. If it is from a board study book again do the same. As someone who works in psych and feels knowledgeable on the topic I think they can be fairly ambiguous so if you get a feel for the flavor of the questions that are asked you will likely be in a better position. Good luck.

I did flashcards. I still swear by writing things out myself. It helped me with retention.
My BA is in psych, I loved it, so it also helped that it was interesting to me.
Good luck!

wow I just asked my teacher this. I am taking med surg and psych and we just had a pop quiz . I did good on med surg but unfortunately didn't do good on psych. funny thing is i have been a mental health worker for 6 years but i always down play that because job experience and nclex questions are not compatible. lol anyway, i asked my teacher how to study this and she said to make sure in lecture you really pick up on the examples presented in class . i just started noticing that and bring my laptop to take notes but now i focus less on powerpoint slides (just write heading and subheadings) and focus more on her hypothetical examples in class.
farawyn, can you please share a sample of your flashcards? :) thanks
