U.S.A. California

2010 is fast approaching so I think there must be a new thread for 2010 new grad program. I hope the moderators will allow me to post this new thread. I'm currently working at Monrovia Memorial Hospital which is 40 miles away from our apt. We live here in Playa del Rey, near the LAX and unfortunately I don't drive yet. I'm looking for any hospitals that offers new grad program for next year. I'm not even sure if I'm still qualified for a new grad program because it will be my 8th month this Jan. working at Monrovia Memorial. Anyone could share any info..Thanks..

I have went through the first phase of Placentia Linda's interviews a couple weeks ago. Have you heard anything from them? Good luck!

It's so difficult not to blend in and look like the next Joe Schmoe! What else can we do?!

Good luck new grads! We all need it!

I had 2 in-person interviews the past two weeks. One at CHLA's NICU and the other at Mercy Medical Center's OB unit in Merced. I got both positions! I've been searching for awhile... and persistence pays off! Good luck to everyone who applied to these places, too! You should hear from them soon.

An asst nsg director of m/s tele in Valley Presbyterian called me last tues.He interviewed me on the phone. He asked me what type of patient we have in the long term acute care I'm working right now,If I handled vent patients. He also asked me if I already took the EKG and ACLS class.I told him that i'm scheduled to take ekg and acls this July.He told me to take those class and call him back when I get my EKG and ACLS card.My question is,will there be a chance that I'll get hired?????

Hey guys! I was just wondering if those who got call backs did their capstone practicum at that hospital? I'm told that some hospitals don't even consider applicants who haven't done a rotation at their hospital?

I did not have a rotation at this hospital, but i did not get past the first interview. Maybe that's one of the reasons I didn't get past it. It's so hard these days! I'm not even sure how to stand out... we are all new grads, and many of us deserve the job!!

As far as I know, some units at UCSF started interviews in June, and by now, they already hired people.

SF VA opened their new grad program in May, and they also interviewed in June. They prefer people who recently graduated in May. Their program fliers were only distributed to some certain graduating classes back then.

Stanford and LCPH already finished picking people for interviews last week. They are interviewing people this week. There are 3 rounds. After this round of interview will be the final round.

I know about 5 people who got panel interviews at LPCH this week...they are waiting to find out if they will be going on to the "next round" with the managers.

Just got hired at kindred la.They said that its toxic to work on that place.any feedback? Thanks

I heard back from the San Francisco Veterans Affairs August New Grad Program. There were 150 applicants and I was selected as one of forty for an interview. Only nine of the forty were selected for the new grad program. I didn't make the cut, however learned from the interview process.

I was offered a job at Sharp Chula Vista in San Diego for their new grad program on med surg, tele, and medical oncology.
