2010 is fast approaching so I think there must be a new thread for 2010 new grad program. I hope the moderators will allow me to post this new thread. I'm currently working at Monrovia Memorial Hospital which is 40 miles away from our apt. We live here in Playa del Rey, near the LAX and unfortunately I don't drive yet. I'm looking for any hospitals that offers new grad program for next year. I'm not even sure if I'm still qualified for a new grad program because it will be my 8th month this Jan. working at Monrovia Memorial. Anyone could share any info..Thanks..
what unit called you? Congrats on getting a job!!!
Pediatric ICU was the unit that called me. When I talked to HR she said whatever you put down for your first choice would be the unit they would forward your application on to. Which unit did you apply to? Thank you! I am sure they will be calling you soon! Keep us posted!
i'm joining in on this thread. i just graduate a few weeks ago from CSULB and i'm mainly concentrating on studying for NCLEX, but i'm also job hunting.
so far i've turned in applications to Stanford Hospital (rejected) and the VA in San Francisco for NorCal and Fountain Valley Regional and Torrance Memorial in SoCal. I'm also talking to a USAF recruiter that's walking me through the commissioning process, but from what I've researched the timeline takes a while. I need a job in the meantime.
They never called and so I am assuming I didn't get the job, since others did get the call since last week
She returned my call today at about 4:00. She said they finished up decisions on Tuesday and hadn't had enough time to call everyone. Then she went on to say unfortunately you were not selected which I figured bc I hadn't received a call. She said I'm sorry I replied its okay. Really it is okay there is just another plan for us maybe bigger and better so I will keep my head held high and keep on applying.

Same here I am just afraid that some hospitals won't take you in a new grad program if you graduated nursing school over a year ago so I have until December Don't know what to do after that.
Friday afternoon. Did anyone else get an offer from Southwest Healthcare (Rancho Springs or Inland Valley)??
Alisonnn can you tell me what your background is like? Education/work exp. ? Im curious to know what made you get the job... I did not get the position at SWHCS (rancho/inland) and would appreciate input for next time. What was your interview like? Thank you.
Hopeful New Grad: did they end up offering you the job and did you turn it down?

This should encourage you, I was an internal candidate and was not hired. They told me they interviewed 30 for 12 spots which is a cut back from the 20 spots they had for the March 2010 cohort. Budget cuts. Try again in December if your still looking!!

Well it would have been nice to have received a phone call from Rancho/Inland just so we wouldn't have been waiting this entire time. Oh well, let the job hunt continue
