When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)
First off, When did you graduate?

But it says applications process TBA
Any old new grads out there? How long have you been looking for a job?
Did anyone notice that as of today (Sat.) if you go to UCSD the don't list ANY of the new grad positions anymore. It's suppose to be open till Tuesday..so does that mean they cut it off early or they decided not to have those new grad positions??? They always keep us guessing...
This is why I don't typically get discouraged and keep applying to these things, but I stay up night before and constantly ping refresh until the posting shows up. I bet they read the first ones and dont even read the apps after a few hundred.
Did anyone hear back from St. Vincent yet? Their apps ended on april 29th and wondering if they started calling ppl... cuz it's already second week of may.
On their website it states: "Note to All RN NEW GRAD Applicants: We are no longer accepting applications for the RN New Grad Program scheduled to start July 11, 2011. We would like to thank everyone who applied. Candidates will be contacted by May 20th regarding the status of their application." (Just saw this yesterday as I was wondering myself.)
Has anyone heard from UC Davis regarding the birthing center position. My status says that they have called applicants for interviews but I have not gotten a call. I am hoping they are not done.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Im pretty sure they are done calling people for interviews. I spoke to HR a few weeks ago and she informed me that once the status changes to interview, that means that the nurse manager has selected all the applicants she would like to interview and if you had not been called then your pretty much out of the running. If by chance there is not a suitable candidate out of the people they interviewed though, the nurse manager will again select new people to interview for the position.
Did anyone get a call from Fountain Valley Hospital? i just got a call to pick two units I want to work on. =D i know their application is still up.. so apply if you haven't =D. but the man from HR told me he will forward my application to the department manager and will be back with me within a week. yay!! its my first choice

Hearing that is great news. I have applied to other new grad programs and the wait time to here something back is much longer than 2-3 weeks, so Im happy to hear that they will possibly notify us in a few weeks wether or not our information has been forwarded to the specified departments and if we have been offered a job by end the May. I understand that this is just preliminary but it is still positive news.
