West Coast University Spring 2018 BSN

Hello, I am starting this thread because I don't see any current threads for the 2018 spring start so I thought I'd make one.

I applied to WCU for the spring 2018 and was wait listed at number 5 and was granted acceptance into the BSN program. Everything has been smooth so far except my financial aid officer. Can't say I'm a fan of hers; anyways, I wanted to see if there were any classmates who would be joining me in their GE classes such as critical reasoning, pathophysiology, first year seminar?

It would be nice to make friends through out this 2 year process.

I took the teas not the hesi

Hi, I am planning to start this April or June at WCU. I have not decided yet as it depends on what classes transferred in and what class I still have to take and the schedule. However, they will not tell me exactly until my financial status is situated. Do you guys know if they give all of that class transfer/schedule information once they know you are approved for private student loan? or do you have to sign everything like terms and condition with the bank THEN they school will give you the class schedule information? How did that process go for you guys? I still have to possibly take First Year Seminar, College Math, Stats, Critical Reasoning, Pathophysiology, and GE Capstone. I was also wondering if anyone has taken those classes yet? If so, how was like? what was your experience? how is the intense level for either of those classes?

They won't give you a schedule of classes till your loan info goes to the school which takes about 3 days to get to them. So you need to accept the loan terms and then send it in then they will evaluate your classes and give u a schedule. I've taken FYS and critical reasoning. FYS is boring and easy. Do able. Critical reasoning is a little tougher but fun. My next term is only patho and GE capstone. GE capstone is barely even a class you have the whole 2 months to write a paper thats it. The classes aren't intense they are easy and fun to do.

Rayl***? Do you go to the Ontario campus? Back in the day I tried west coast. I had just finished my prereqs. Hated it so I left. I don't regret it at all.

Hi FutureNurse2308 or anyone else, have you received confirmation for orientation etc for April 2 start date?

Hi, I am already a student so I don't have an orientation to attend. However, you could call and ask if there will be one.

If I remember correctly , there was no orientation for us. It's a class called first year seminar. That's basically your orientation.

Hey everyone! I will be attending the Orange County campus in June. I keep hearing different things so I wanted to ask here: do we ever get to pick our classes? I have heard people say yes, some people say after the first term, and others say no, so I wanted to clarify.

Yes after the first term.

Hi Everyone,

Im hoping to start at WCU in June then core BSN in January, but housing is an issue given that im from Nor Cal. I cant find many forums regarding housing. But im a 21yo F with a fat lazy loving cat. I dont drink or smoke or party, school is my priority. This handle is the same for my twitter and insta.

FutureNurse2308.... how do you like the school so far?

I am looking to start August at the Ontario campus. I am scared though because some of the previous bad reviews on other sites. People are stating they offer empty promises. I will be transferring all my prereqs so really hoping the price goes down. Anyone else for August at Ontario campus? Would love to meet up other newbies.

I wonder why we need to meet with financial aid to talk about a general overview of how much this school costs when it was all over the application I had to sign. I don't understand why financial aid doesn't meet after all of my transcripts have been reviewed. Then the meeting could actually be about how much I owe and not the general population.

Anyone else experiencing some difficulty with the process?

Hello, I actually really like it. It's fast paced and there's always something going on. I was skeptical too in the beginning but I'm really glad I did it.

You need a meeting with a counselor because loans are kind of hard to set up. They are there to help you

If housing is an issue, then why do you want to go to WCU? You need a lot if support to go there. You have to pay about 1200 a month. A co worker's son goes there and the co worker told me he has to split the cost with his (the co worker's) wife.

I think you should sort out the housing issue first if that's a problem.
