UCSF New RN Grad Training Program 2014

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello, everyone! UCSF opened a couple of new RN Training Program for January 2014. Just wanted to start a thread. Did anyone else thought the application was abnormally short? I only attached a resume. Did you attach anything else? Good luck!

yes I did the same, just the resume.

Did you all apply to just one position or more than one position?

There is a discussion on the New Grad RN- Bay Area facebook group, some people say they found a way to upload cover letter, recommendation letters, etc., but you do that after submitting the application (and it's not required, so not sure if it will be read, but probably would only help if anything).

I applied to 4 adult acute care positions. LOL. I didn't see any information that says we couldn't do that and all the positions I applied for were very similar and in an area of my interest (med-surg). I did see an option to upload attachments but since I didn't see it as part of a requirement, I didn't. :\

I graduated December 2010, just making the cut off. I was never able to get hospital experience, but I have worked in clinical settings and the medical aesthetic device field. I have been unemployed/underemployed for the last 4 months!

I just applied to the acute care- adult medicine, acute care- internal medicine/ace and adult hem/onc programs. Totally agree that the application is surprisingly short...I'm pretty sure if we meet the cut we'll be expected to submit cover letter, LOR's, transcripts etc before an interview. Gluck everyone!!

I see that 525 people have viewed this posting...the application closes tomorrow...I wonder how many people applied :wideyed:

A few years ago I was one of 80 people that were chosen from a pool of 1000 applicants for an interview at Fremont hospital for their new grad program that had spots for 20 new RNs.....unfortunately I was not hired, the starting pay was $50...half of the positions were benefited, half were not.

Good Luck Ya'll!

Thank you for the info!! Gluck to everyone indeed.

Hello and yes, I applied for 4 of the (18?) positions posted. I attached a resume and cover letter. Best of luck to everyone. Does anyone know approximately how long the process takes before candidates are selected for interviews?

I applied to the program as well, but only went for one of the positions posted. I'm out of state though, not sure how that might affect my chances. I currently live in a compact state, so losing that by applying for a CA license makes me a little nervous, as it cuts down on my opportunities elsewhere if UCSF doesn't work out. Good luck to everyone!

I believe we can apply to multiple positions, I heard a few of my classmates applied to ALL of them!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE :)
