  1. Hi, I'm a 45-year-old AGACNP student here with one year to go until I graduate. I just wanted to pop in to say, YES, it is worth it! As long as it's your passion! Like nursing, many enter NP programs for the wrong reasons. As long as you are following your passion, you're never too old.
  2. Apologies—I don't check this board frequently. I'm finishing my first year in the program, and I'm still working full-time in the ICU while managing a full course load. It's certainly doable, although I understand the content and time commitments ramp up exponentially once you get into your concentration coursework (from what I've heard). The program varies depending on the class and semester and has a mixture of asynchronous and synchronous classes. I will say that when comparing notes to some of my co-workers who are enrolled in similar programs through your run-of-the-mill diploma programs out there, the quality of the coursework and the degree of attention you get from the professors is superb. You get what you pay for, as they say.
  3. Hello, Yes, there was about a three-week delay from the interview to my acceptance letter. It was the longest three weeks of my life, if I remember. Hang in there!
  4. Hello! I just thought I'd let you know that initial interview invites went out mid-February last year (2024), so be patient (I know it's hard!) Best of luck, Robert (AGACNP student at Duke)
  5. FYI: it seems that decision letters are being sent out - I received mine earlier today. Best of luck to all that applied!
  6. Nothing yet from my end - I was figuring it would be late March to Mid April myself.
  7. I completed my interview last week. I enjoyed the experience and am waiting on pins and needles for the forthcoming decisions next month. Good luck to everyone! I believe they are finishing with interviews this week?
  8. I actually Just received an email to interview for the fall program yesterday - they should be going out this week? Good luck to all!
  9. I've applied for the MSN/AGACNP at Duke for Fall 2024 and am curious about timelines. To date, I've heard nothing and haven't even seen a status update on the student portal. I attended one of the internet presentations on the program and want to think they mentioned Dec/Jan for interview notifications? in any case, I'm following this thread.
  10. Just want to chime in and second what pretty much everyone here has already posted. You are NOT alone - we all feel (or felt) this way when starting out. Hang in there, find a good mentor (i.e. - a nice nurse who sets a good example for what floor nursing SHOULD be), and don't be afraid to ask questions. Also, trust your nursing gut.
  11. Hello and yes, I applied for 4 of the (18?) positions posted. I attached a resume and cover letter. Best of luck to everyone. Does anyone know approximately how long the process takes before candidates are selected for interviews?
