Hi everyone, I just applied to UCD's new grad program for spring of next year and didn't see any threads so I though I'd start one. Please post any updates or info you get about the residency!
Thanks!

I asked the samething on the new grad rn forum on fb. Someone said all units except transplant and l&d are on hold. I don't know that's means? Could be budget problems or the units don't know if they need new grads .

No I haven't heard back from them. Too many interviewees for only 2 positions on that unit. Have you gotten a call for residency from UC Davis? Just last week I got a call from Med/Surg unit manager for an interview. Hope this time around it works out for me. :) I feel like I'm more prepared now.
Good luck! Haven't heard anything from them

Hey guys! I havent checked my status for a while now and just now did and it says "060-itrvw" but have not received a call yet. Anyone else status is like that but havent received a call yet? What's going?
Statuses are individualize . Only two units I think we're hiring this time around. Good luck

Hi I'm getting my resume ready for the upcoming application.. I notice the UC residency website provides a sample of how they want you to list your clinical & volunteer experience in a table/grid. Did anyone followed the sample & used the grid to lists their experiences? What sections did you include on your resume? I was only able to fit "Education & Certifications" and Clinical Experiences which is listed in the grid & took most of the page... If someone can help me that would be great because I've never seen a grid in a resume and I'm assuming that's how they want to look at my resume.. as a grid..
Hi Nebit27
I was just reading this thread and thanks so much for the insight on the application process. I was wondering if you can help me or answer a few questions about their resume requirements.
I noticed the UC Davis residency website provides a sample grid of how they want you to list your clinical experience. Did you also use the grid to list your experiences? It seems like they just want the basic info on your resume like rotations, volunteer, hours, timeframe, etc. The grid also took most of my 1 page and I had to put Education & Certifications together, which I hope is ok. This is the first time I am using a table in a resume and I really want to jumpstart my career because of financial concerns. I hope you can help me Thanks!
reginasmall, I'm sure you will get it; you precepted in the right place and that's what they are looking at. Most likely you would start in January, only 3 people start this Monday and the rest in January. I haven't heard about contract but even if there was one, I would sign it in a sec:))) What not to like? 40 hrs/week, the first 6 months while in the training every day M-F with weekends off. (after the training, you choose to work 10 hrs shift four times a week) It's considered a state job so all of the amazing benefits for you. I can't wait to have 3 weeks paid vacation the very first year, plus all of paid holidays and seek days which is another 3-4 weeks! I talked to OR nurses from UCDMC and they told that new grads as respected as experienced nurses and surgeons are very lean and friendly since it's a teaching hospital. You do not need to buy scrubs and now OR even pays for the shoes. Try to show some confidence but not overdue since we are new grads:) I graduated this June
