I was just reading these posts, and couldn't believe the junk that is being written about Pacific College.
If some of these people took some responsiblity for their own study habits and behavior, perhaps they would be doing much better in college. I went to Pacific College. Their classes are awesome....Their NCLEX review is awesome....I feel prepared and know I will do well when I take my NCLEX in a few weeks.Last edit by sirI on Sep 22, '08 : Reason: referred to deleted post

Everyone is here to have an open discussion, you don't need to agree with me but I do take exception to anyone impuning my character or motives. I hope to teach nursing school one day, I think it would be a cool thing to share knowledge.....not there yet, I'm just a nurse with a work ethic, and a belief in working for what I want, and trying harder when it's hard. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but I will give it a good 99%. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.Good job rudder....did the school pay you in order to get more business....won't happen....everyone in OC and LA counties know about that school....there are a lot of better choices out there now....schools that have good pass rates PLUS advocate for their students.

The people that I knew who transferred to Pacific from other colleges (two) did so because they were not satisfied with the training they received from the other schools. Pacific college is not an easy college, but it is effective. My opinion stays the same. I would definitely refer anyone that wants a really good education to that school.

Sep 3, '08Joined: Sep '08; Posts: 1I am a grad. of Pacific College and had a great experience at that school. My teachers were wonderful and the review that I received for the NCLEX was extremely helpful.
I am a single mom. It wasn't easy, but I made it through the program because of all of the helpful teachers and students there. I haven't taken the NCLEX yet, but do feel ready. It is a small college, but truly does give you everything you need if you want to do your part and commit to your education.

I hope all potential students really take the time to look at all aspects of potential schools...The decision is ultimately theirs, but hopefully they will visit the college, ask direct questions and do their own research before they decide.

Jul 23, '09Joined: Jul '09; Posts: 4; Likes: 1I am starting in Sept 2009 at Pacific College..... For me, I am a single mom with 2 kids and the 7-3:30 schedule works great for me..... I have been reading posts for some time now to try and help with making my final decission and, I have concluded almost all schools have had bad reviews... just as they have had good reviews.... I kind of look at it like this:
When my kids come home from schools saying that they don't get a long with their teacher, or don't like their schools, or sally wouldn't play with them...
(keep in mind that they love them the next day).... This is life, not everyone is going to like us, not all of our higher ups at the office will treat all of the employee's fairly.... Promotions will go to the cool guy and not the geeky guy who really deserves it....
You just have to do the best you can with whatever situation you are in...
Hold your head high, deal with life's not so nice moments with dignity...
And, I promise you, you will do just fine in whatever BON approved school you attend...
Aug 28, '09Joined: Aug '09; Posts: 3; Likes: 1Just look at their ASSESSMENT TEST.
Have you taken it? Seriously why would they make an ASSESSMENT TEST so freaking EASY?
Remember most of these schools are FOR PROFIT schools.
PASSING RATE doesn't matter because they REMOVE all the students that couldn't teach themselves.
Go take the ASSESSMENT test at Concorde and then take the one at Pacific College and you will see who actually wants somewhat educated students!
Oct 22, '09Joined: Aug '08; Posts: 12I sent 2 friends there and they had a horrid experience. I did not, however, I cannot and would not recommend this place any longer. What happened to my 2 friends whousl not happen to anyone.
Oct 23, '09Joined: Aug '08; Posts: 12They kept changing their class dates over and over blaming it on the Nursing Board. Not right to continually disappoint people. All done with sending referrals.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE THERE! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! I FINISHED ALL OF MY PREREQUISITES AT SADDLEBACK COLLEGE AND HOPED TO GO TO PACIFIC FOR LVN, THEN RN. FIRST OF ALL, THEY STILL DON'T HAVE AN RN PROGRAM EVEN THOUGH WE WERE TOLD TWO YEARS AGO IT WAS GOING TO BE UP AND RUNNING WITHIN A YEAR! BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT WAS A BAAAAAD EXPERIENCE! WE WERE ONLY THERE FOR THREE WEEKS, THEN LEFT!!!!
