hi is there anyone who could give advice on what to do with my situation ? i took the nclex july 2006 and upto now waiting for my May 2007 priority date to become current . I didnt bother to do anything with my nclex result in california bec . before i got info that you will not retake the exam but you just need to reapply and submit your SSN then they will give you a license , i didnt know that there was an eight year limit. I hope anybody here could give an advice .

You cannot endorse as you have no license. You can contact TXBoN to see if you could apply for license by examination and transfer your NCLEX result from CABRN to TXBoN. (There is a fee to transfer results )

thank you justbeachynurse ! ill try to contact texasBon.

hi i just called the california board of nursing today !good news and for everyone who have same situation with me . The operator told me that i dont need to retake the nclex exam because it doesnt matter how long it takes for me to provide the SSN number . And i ask her about the 8 year limit and she told that i may have read it by mistake and not applicable to my case . Thanks God !

Yes, that might be correct, in that, you were never issued the license, therefore, you have technically didn't have a license that would have "expired" in that 8 year period of just passing the NCLEX. Good luck to you and thanks for updating the information.

What did the CA BRN say about how to re-activate? Any talks about the fees involved and or whether or not, you still need to complete the 30 hours of the continuing educational units?

Just as a pre-caution, I still would e-mail the CA BRN, without stating you called, give them the 8 year limitation link from their website and make sure you state your case with the name given to the CA BRN so they can look it up and confirm that's still the case. Hopefully, they will write back to you in a timely manner. Sometimes two employees may give out two different answers, so better to assure yourself. Good work there!

she told me that once i have a SSN number all i have to do is reapply for licensure , submit requirements and the copy of my Nclex pass letter .,she did'nt mention anything about continuing education .And Yes i already submit an email for confirmation and as a proof also of their response, if they will respond ?! And planning to call back again for another confirmation maybe next week.Thank you also for your advice @steppybay.

Ok, good! I think what the answer will be is that you will have finally (yea) get your RN license in CA, then in order to renew before the 2nd time, then everyone must complete the 30 CEU's prior to the renewal date. The first time you just need to submit the renewal fees, no CEU's. Good luck with becoming a PR soon.

Yes, there's also a good thread here on those passing the NCLEX years passed, no SS#, but now they got the SS#, re-applied for examination (but no actual re-take needed), wait a couple of months or so, and viola, your name is on the CA BRN site and soon you get the license in hand!!

@mabellegamino, i have almost the same situation with you. i took and passed the NCLEX march of 2011. the CABON gave me three years to submit the SSN otherwise my file will be permanently deleted. As of now, i still dont have the SSN and my deadline to submit is barely 2 months. Can you please give me the details where can i email them or the possible solution to my problem? thank you and best regards

Hi @leonore321 you can email them @ [email protected] or might as well call them +91 63223350 bec. Maybe they will not answer soon on your email . I think best solution depends on your situation . When is your priority date ?

hi @mabellegamino! are there any updates from your case?

Hi there fellow nclex passers. I'm a RN in the Philippines. Passed my NCLEX in 2007, passed my IELTS in 2008, had my visascreen in 2010. I've been working as a school nurse since 2009 til now. I wasnt able to get my SSN because i didnt go to the US because of recession. I read from the previous comments here that NCLEX result DOES NOT EXPIRE as long as you provide your SSN as soon as you have it. I'm so relieved knowing about this because all i thought im gonna retake the exam again. I got married to my fiance who is a US citizen last October 2016 and we are processing my papers to immigrate to the US and hopefully i will be in the US this 2017. My question now is, if I want to continue my nursing career in the US, Hawaii to be specific, once I get my SSN, what should I do first? Who should I contact? What are the requirements for me to get that US license? What requirements/papers should I prepare here in the Philippines to get my US license? Can my NCLEX result in California valid in Hawaii? Thank you so much for your time reading and responding to my queries. Answers will be so much appreciated. Salamat po. God bless :)
