Calhoun CC Fall 2014

Published

Anyone applying for Calhoun's nursing program this fall? I am and I am really anxious and excited!!!

I'm totally nervous also. A friend of mine told me about the CPR classes and it's at any fire department is my understanding and it's the class for healthcare providers.

Guys just found out that Madison Fire Station #1 does the healthcare professional CPR FOR 20 bucks.

I'm gonna research this class myself. I just am shocked it is approved and only costs $20. The ARC class is 110.00. I sent an email to the EMS instructor at Calhoun and left voice message at fire department. Don't do anything till we research more thoroughly.

Yeah I was shocked that it was only $20 too. I am looking at CRMC and they offer class for $50 going to email CRMC and find out more information. scross0613 when you find out information about fire dept. keep us informed.

Hi Everyone,

I applied with 124 pts. I was lacking my Micro class (which I am taking this summer). I made a 61 on my teas and have A's in A&P 1 and 2....and a 4.0 gpa. I'm pretty bummed about not getting in this Fall....if I had just taken Micro with A&P 2 than I'd be in (my adviser talked me into dropping Micro for fear of a low grade in both). I will re-apply for Spring 2015 with 162 pts (if I ace Micro). I feel like that should be a definite in.....I hope. Congrats to all who got in, and for those who didn't...Don't give up! I'll see you in the Spring! :)

I have found a few CPR class options. HEMSI does the AHA course for $40. She is going to call me back with dates. And Madison Fire Dept. Also does the AHA class and theirs is $15.

I already cancelled my $140 class and I'm signed up with fire station 1! See y'all there! $15 is so cheap!

What are the dates for the fire station? Any on the weekends?

It's the Madison one right? I tried to call but I didn't get through to whomever they transferred me to. Hopefully the class doesn't fill up too quickly.

It won't, because it's not well known. They usually do groups. But they are Certified healthcare professionals, and rescuers. They are obviously non profit because it's a community advantage. I didn't trust it until I did my research but it really is that good.
