I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has applied or is planning to apply for the Summer 2017 cohort of Cal State San Marco's ABSN program? This cohort is at the satellite campus in Temecula.
I finally just finished all my pre-reqs and was able to complete my application today ( I had a couple classes to finish during the Fall term. )
I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has heard back? I have my points evaluation but that is the only thing I have gotten back so far!!

Thanks for all the great info!!! I posted back earlier but looks like it never went through. I must admit, I am really nervous I wont get in for the Summer cohort. I was not able to get my file completed until January 2nd. I had two classes left to finish!!! I am just hoping there is enough room.

That sucks that they don't send rejection notices. I check the student portal every day, hoping to see the SIR. Now when I don't see anything there, I won't know if it's because I'm rejected or if they still havent updated it for admissions yet.
If we were to be accepted (hypothetically), do you know how long we have to confirm that we are going to attend? Just asking because I also applied to Cal State LA, and their interviews take place through March and final notices go out in April, which seems super late since the programs starts June 5th. So I was hoping that I'd have time to see if I got into both before having to decide between the two.
Edit: Also, since you were waitlisted for Spring, did you have to reapply for summer? or did they already have your application saved? Did you have to submit any additional paperwork? Just wondering for myself and others who might find themselves in that situation soon.

The same thing happened to me; I was right in the middle of finishing my pre-reqs (like a week away from finishing) when the apps were due, and my school took too long to send out final grades. The acceptances for everyone were sent out right as San Marcos was receiving my final grades. I spoke with my advisor after I found out I was waitlisted she did say that acceptance is slightly less competitive for Temecula than San Marcos, so that is a piece of good news. She said that since there are 2 cohorts at Temecula and they're further away, there is a little less pressure to get in than at the San Marcos cohort. Also, apparently the parking permit at San Marcos is ridiculously expensive per semester compared to Temecula, so we will save money in that regard!
Hi Jay6doll! I know, it is so frustrating that they don't send rejection notices. I felt like I was waiting at the edge of my seat most of the time and hounding my advisor more than I would've if they had just been more open about communicating. I was frustrated checking the student portal too, waiting for something to change and then not knowing what it meant when nothing changed. It's so frustrating! I hope that it will work out for us! I think that you have like a week (that's a guess) to 'accept' your spot and send in the $150 deposit on your student portal. They send the instructions for all of that, but the $150 down is due right away at the time you accept. I'm not sure if they would be willing to hold the spot, but if you're willing to put $150 down and potentially lose it if a better offer comes up, it might be worth the investment! Luckily, once you've applied, if you choose to not go to CSU or if you don't get accepted on your first try, your application is good for a full year from the date you apply. You don't have to change your application or pay another $50 or anything, it just rolls over to the next term for consideration. It's nice not having to do anything more to be considered, but it also makes me question how many people are actually on their waitlist, because they aren't necessarily forthcoming with that information. We'll see!! February is almost here!
Hi everyone! My portal changed yesterday to "admitted" and the email came through this morning, CHECK YOUR PORTALS! Those do in fact change first! Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to meet you guys!
Yeah! I got a conditional letter of acceptance in my email too! But....when I go to student portal, nothing changed. when I go to the To Do List, it now says that I have to submit my TEAS (which I did a long time ago...), that was not there before! So now Im worried that it's a mistake! I need to call the office!
Congrats!!!!! My portal did the same exact thing, I think there is just a glitch going on. I sent them an email, if I do not hear back, I need to call as well! When submitting the deposit, do we select the extended learning option, or the CSUSM option? I asked them this in my email, but I was just curious if you knew. Once your portal changes, you will see an accept or decline button, and then it will bring you to a screen where you have to choose!
Congrats Raynaleigh and J6doll!!! I didn't get an email, but I saw that I got admitted into the program through the website. I paid the $150 fee and my application status is now "Submitted Intent to Enroll." (Ray, I clicked on the extended learning option) :)

As for me, something went wrong. My application was never evaluated even though I emailed my advisor asking for it a few weeks prior. So we'll see what happens now...
Hi everyone!! Congratulations on getting in!! I got my acceptance yesterday as well, and I am so excited to meet all of you and get started!
We did it!! I submitted my deposit immediately after I got that email haha. (After selecting 'accept' I also chose the 'extended learning summer' option to pay the deposit.) I wasn't expecting to hear back from CSU this early! If no one else has done it yet, I would love to start a Facebook group for our summer cohort so we can start the process of meeting and give each other updates in a more organized place. I'll link it here. Congratulations again to everyone, I am so excited! :)

imtoonice You should call them!! I remember you saying that you submitted everything on time, I am sure if you call them and remind them, they can expedite your evaluation.
