Hello everyone! One of the greatest thing that could happen to me just happened on February 27, 2017 at 6:38pm: I am one of the few lucky students to be selected in to Cabrillo's Nursing Program starting Fall 2017!! Many schools generally use two selection process: GPA + Entrance exams scores(ATI TEAS, HESI, and other entrance tests) or random lottery. In my opinion, random lottery is the most difficult method of selecting students versus GPA + Entrance Exam scores. Unfortunately, Cabrillo College Nursing Program is one of the many nursing programs that use random lottery. However, I am very fortunate and blessed to be a soon-to-be nursing student and I can not wait to meet other nursing students from Cabrillo College.
My main reason for posting this is because I want to be very well prepared for my 1st semester in the nursing program. I really want to know all kinds of ways how nursing students learn in their lecture classes so may be I can learn as well and implement some of these strategies in my first semester. Any other suggestions, learning methods, and other study tools are greatly appreciated!

Big congratz on your acceptance! I also applied to Cabrillo but was not accepted by the lottery system. Instead, I was notified today by Southwestern College of my point system acceptance but that school is about 8 hours away from the Bay Area which means I would need to move down South. I am currently still waiting on other schools to reply and hoping to get into one nearby.
I second what you said about preparing for our first semester of nursing school. Hope somebody will pass on some advice! :) Either way, best of luck and I believe you will do awesome as a nurse!

Congrats! I don't have any words of advice, but I'm a Santa Cruz native and have heard from friends how hard it is to get into the Cabrillo program!

I know this is an old thread but, I just got accepted to Cabrillo for Fall 2018 and would love some advice and an idea of what to expect.

Hey Rachel, I also was just accepted for the Fall 2018 start. Hoping to get some ideas of how the process will go over the summer and keeping our deadlines in mind.
Maybe we should start a new thread and see who else might be on here in our class?
Hey MurseJ408,
I started a new thread.
