CA (USCIS) Service Center and ther service center updates

Published

Latest update posted on the USCIS proceesing dates was posted last March 20, 2006. Texas is the frontrunner. at Jan 4, 2006, followed by Nebraska at Dec. 17, 2005 and Vermont at Nov. 19 2005. CA still didn't update at Jun 2005. But as we all know we shouldn't rely on this as I remember that Vermont was stuck on Feb 2005 last yr. (and just recently updated it this yr) but there were already reports of petitions being approved for later months.

Is there someone out there or knows someone whose petition got approved already beyond those posted dates? Just to keep everyone really up-to-date, esp. those undegoing CA service center. Any Nov./Dec. applicants approved for CA?

Yes, of course. That is just fair. But I think the current trend would be that every petition (schedule A workers) would be pooled into one so it won't matter anymore what jurisdiction you'd be on but on what date your petition was filled. This is the most logical, and fair thing to do. Hopefully, this is where it's headed.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, but it's not fair to you, guys. Wait here, wait there,.... i just don't understand, why California isn't doing their job?!

I don't know about dates, because if you, for example, are from california and applied 6 months before me, then they'll process your case first and i'll have to wait for another year even though i belong to texas?

That's not fair either.

What a mess. It's better not to know anything about what they're doing there. Less headache.

Yes, what a mess. :lol2: That's why when I read about this in schusterman I didn't quite know how to react. Is it a good or a bad thing (for everyone)?

We can expect the next (official) bulletins to be very interesting.

Everything is in a standstill all of a sudden and I think it's better to observe what happens next and what will be it's implications for everyone. It will definitely change the recruiting dynamics and choice of state to work in. COntracts shouldn't be signed until its clear. SOme chose to work (or will be choosing) in states under texas and vermont for faster INS processing in expense of some sacrifices in lower wages then this thing comes in. So, I think those who have not yet signed should wait a little and observe.

I wish you good luck, and all the best!:balloons:

We are really helpless here and can change nothing. So, let's just hope that things go right for all of us.

Yes, you're right. Everyone is helpless and we have no say on this matters. It's really up to USCIS on how they'll do it (we are at their mercy) and do it fairly for everyone. Let's just hope for the best. ;)

Firstly i think all of us who filed our I-140's through CSC should be given an explanation as to why they have not processed any application since June '05-other than the fact that they are not doing their job.

I think the transferred applications should be processed by receipt date as that is the length of time that the USCIS has had our applications sitting waiting to get processed. All the CSC should be cleared before processing any new applications to TSC as we will still have had a longer wait time.

Hopefully for all of us TEXAS will be efficient & get through the backlog quickly so we can all get on with our lives & not be held to ransom by the USCIS any longer

Yes. Definitely. USCIS should have a detailed explanation on an official bulletin. What were the reasons for not doing the the I-140 petitions since June 05? They owe this to the applicants and employers.

But my best bet is that the original personnels doing the I-140 petitions for TSC will be just continuing all petitions that are originally under their juridiction while those personnel who originally were doing the H1Bs and related petitions will now be doing all the imported I-140 petitions from CSC. This way.. everything is fair for everyone and no disruptions will happen. Two groups of personnels doing two simultaneous processing. 1 for those originally under TSC jurisdiction and the other doing those originally from CSC. This makes sense right? This is just my hypothesis (I may be wrong - but this is the most logical thing to do).

Those on NSC would be a bit smoother because they will not be doing any backlog petitions BUT ALL new petitions starting APril 1 will be directed to them so they can easily get swamped along the way even if they now have extra personnel handling the I-140s.

USCIS should anticipate this and devise a plan as early as now on how to make it more efficient. This is just band-aid they're doing.

California Service Center is definitely doing its job, it is just that there are so many that wish to come to work in this area. And the Serivce Center is Federal Gov't, not a state office.

Next, if you paid attention to when the retrogression was going on last year, CA was processing in a blink of an eye, it was not unusual to be from the UK, get filed, and have a green card, in about seven months max.

Many from the Philippines chose CA because it did not require the CGFNS exam, and now most states do not. So with high numbers thrown into the equation, you get more applicants here.

AOS applications are being processed quite fast, compared to some other areas, I have seen a couple in just about one month.

Sorry, but I do not agree. Most of you are forgetting about the shear number of applications that get processed thru the California Service Center, and it is staffed by Federal Employees. It has absolutely nothing to do with the state.

When the retrogression was on last year, CA was processing in a blink, as most of the applications coming thru here are from citizens of the PIC countries. When they opened back up last summer to everyone, there was already a huige backlog that needed to be cleared up first. There were actually applicants that were waiting for more than one year.

You are getting expedited to work in the US as an RN, instead of waiting the usual five years that others have to wait for.

----------------------

And unfortunately, there are some that have been waiting for about one year, and guess what? Their agencies are no longer in business. If you have heard nothing from the attorney or the agency since your petition was submitted, check to find out if they are even in business. We followed up on a few over here last week, and they no longer even existed. So please do your homework and make sure that things are still happening in your favor. Or you could be waiting a very long time, and for no reason.

If the agency states that the documents were submitted last year in July, etc., do you have a copy of the confirmation of the mailing? Many times they are not filed when they tell you that they are. Or one form was not submitted. You need to follow thru, do not rely on your agency to keep you informed. Unfortunately, even though they are making quite a bit of money when they place you, they stop caring once you have signed.

My I-140 (Schedule A) had a receipt date of July 7th '05 in CSC. It was transfered to TSC on Mar 22nd & i got approved on Apr 13th. Hope the rest of ye won't be waiting too much longer.
