CA is testing my patience...

Specializes in Finally an RN!.

So I am usually a very patient person, but waiting for NCLEX results in CA has just added a degree of difficulty. The BRN website says it is updated M-F, but when I log in this morning, it says "last updated; JUL-14-2008." Someone needs to notify the BRN that it is now JUL-16-2008 and they seemed to have skipped a day. They are killing me! all I ask is that they humor me and just change the date so at least I think someone has done something in the last 2 days!! Is that too much to ask?! It's always something...

I am in CA too, I took the NCLEX on Monday 07/14th 10 am, I starterd to check the results this morning. I have realized that BON website was update almost daily, then I noticed they did update the website Wed and Sat morning around 6:30 am. Just to comment something, one of my friends took the test on 06/21 and she got the results 07/02; she was loosing hope to pass because our classmates that took the test before they got the results within 48 hours. I read in other threads in this forum that the delay also depends on if BON has the transcripts or not to issue the license, also if there is documentation missing in your file or fingerprints problems. I wonder if we already have the IP they would issue license without any delay because they already have the transcripts; what do you think?

Anyway, here we are waiting for the results, as you say BON is testing our patient.

Please keep me posted about your results I will do the same.

Yea, I'm in CA too and I noticed that although they do try to update M-F, the date shown is always the day before! Now it changed to July 15th. I took mine yesterday afternoon. My friends took their tests and their names showed up pretty quick 2-3 business days. I know my file is complete so, if I pass, I will find out soon. I don't think CA is on top of it like other states. My aunt from Oregon took her NCLEX on saturday and her name was posted on Monday!!

Good luck to ya!

Yeah,

I guess we just have to wait. By the way, how you can find out if your file is complete? Is there a phone # or webste that we can call or look? If so, please let me know,

Good luck to all of us

I assume the BRN can tell you, but on that brochure that they give us at the testing center, it says try not to call because they use the resources on phone calls rather than processing results, etc. I wouldn't want that! hehe :) I actually assumed that my file is complete, because everyone from my program found out in like 2 business days.! I know your final transcript have to be sent to BRN and I'm assuming mine has b/c I ordered an extra one and received it like a month ago. I also know my BSN degree was conferred and everything.

There is no way to actually know ahead of time if a file is complete, there could be an issue with fingerprints or anything else. And remember that CA will permit a new grad to test before they have received the final transcripts from your school provided that you name was on a roster submitted by the school.

They are one of the only states that permits this, so they could also require that one has everything completely done before being granted permission to sit for the exam.

And there are only about 1/2 of the states that actually participate in early results, it is far from being all of them, or close to it. You just hear so much about CA as the state is so large.

Average wait time is ten days, we have seen some see their license posted in two to three days, but this is not the norm.

Best of luck to you.

Yeah,

You are right, I shouldn't use the resources to take my call, I better let them work :typing in OUR SUCCESSFUL RESULTS:wink2:. I will try to wait and mantain patience.

Oh yeah, also, I went to CSU, Sacramento and the person in charge of NCLEX actually walks to paperwork, transcripts, etc. down to the BRN. That's kinda neat that it's in Sac.

Thanks Suzanne for the explanation, I will try to keep myself busy and patient and just wait for the BRN posts the results.

Find some fun things to do to take your mind off of things.

We usually tell people that if they do not have any results in two weeks, then to phone or contact them to make sure that something is not missing. If everyone were to contact them earlier, then things would be delayed longer for all.

Best of luck to you.
