Hi! I applied for the fall 2011 Nursing Program at Burlington County College and was just wondering if anyone else on here is waiting to hear if they got in. I've finished all of my pre-req's with honors and live in county but I know it's a matter of who gets their applications in first so I'm still really nervous ! Just looking to see if anyone else on here is in the same boat being I know I can't be the only one! Hoping to get a letter soon! :)
So glad you got in too!!! Even better you're in the morning class for meds too, can't wait to meet you! We all have a lot to look forward too! I have a friend who was wait listed who has all of her pre-req's done and good grades but she lives out of county. I'm heartbroken she was wait listed, I hope it was an accident of some kind being she spoke with someone in the fall who told her all of her paperwork was in and in proper order. I hope she finds her way to join us in class!!! Has anyone heard of someone being put on the wait list who met all the qualifications but lived out of county?
Congrats crhoward13186!! :)
@KGMM when I attend the nursing seminar over in the fall the two instructors there said it is pretty impossible to get in if you are a out of county resident; because county residents are given priority and there is never a shortage of in county "qualified" applicant.
I got my denial letter also but I was expecting it. I was informed in January that my HS Bio lab was not acceptable. The letter says if I complete it they will reconsider
my app on a space avaliable basis. But I am shooting for January.
I am so happy for all of you who made it in!!!!!!!!
ggriffith639 thanks for the info. I guess being she told me what she was told I never thought she might not get in. I hope there is a way to make it happen for her though! I'm sorry you got denied but at least you knew ahead of time about the issue and it is something that you can fix easily!!(but I know it is disappointing all the same, so I'm sorry) You will get in and you will be an RN very soon!!! Good luck!
hey guys im a nursing student at bcc also and i got in spring 2011. i was reading all your posts and i wanted to say to JoBamsMom dont give up. last semester i got a denial letter also simply because they said i did not take the net test. i called them and they found them so someone miss placed them along the way. i was then put on the waiting list and was accepted about a month later. it stinks when your not accepted due to something that isnt even your fault. if you dont get in this fall just keep applying. i dont kno if you need day or night but the spring night program offers 20 slots to day time people. so either way every semester there are some day time spots.!! best of luck to all of you! you can ask me ne thing you would like! i was so nervous to start but the program is great. it is so much work and mrs.apohs tests are extremely hard! study study study and always keep up on your reading!!
Melissa.
Congrats!! Definitely glad you will be joining us too! You went from wait list to acceptance fast! So happy for you! I do not know the schedule exactly but have heard lectures start at 8am Mon, Tues & Fri and Thursday is clinical day...but again I do not know if that is accurate.
They got my background check and drug results too but I have not gotten the next packet just yet, can't wait to get it though! I would think we should be getting it soon though. Glad we can all go through this together! :w00t:
When I got the waitlist letter, I almost had them take me off of the list! I get so anxious, and having 2 little ones to think about just made my anxiety worse. I finally just decided that I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So I mailed the letter to keep me on the list late thirsday. They couldn't have gotten it until Saturday or Monday, and I called today. I was just curious to see how many people were actually on the waiting list, and on average how many people on the list actually get in. And that quick she told
Me that she just put my acceptance letter in the mail. I am SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! I've been working on my pre/co req's for 7 years, with 2 years off, got married, 2 kids, and got in 1st try! I'm just beyond excited!!!! I can't wait to meet you all, I feel like a big nerd, but hey, at least we will "know" someone going into this. I'm SO SO SOOO EXCITED!!!!!
Could you imagine if you had declined to be on the wait list!!! lol!!! AND thankfully you called and got the news right away, I can only imagine the roller coaster of emotions you've been through. I was going crazy just waiting for the letter but at least I was put out of my misery when I got the acceptance letter I can't imagine going through what you've gone through!! So glad you're going to be joining us, I'm married and a mom too so knowing there will be other students "juggling" life will be nice. Some of us will meet in June when we take the medication course but we should all get together at least once prior to the fall semester starting maybe...plenty of time to try to make that happen! In the meantime CONGRATS!!! Enjoy it, we've all worked REALLY hard for this and need to enjoy this before the mayhem starts!! :clpty:
