Burlington County College Fall 2011 Nursing Program..acceptance letter yet??

Published

Hi! I applied for the fall 2011 Nursing Program at Burlington County College and was just wondering if anyone else on here is waiting to hear if they got in. I've finished all of my pre-req's with honors and live in county but I know it's a matter of who gets their applications in first so I'm still really nervous :uhoh3:! Just looking to see if anyone else on here is in the same boat being I know I can't be the only one! Hoping to get a letter soon! :)

So when you were waitlisted which courses if any did you still need?

I was taking Microbiology, the lab, and Nutrition which were the last pre-reqs I needed, but I guess because they weren't actually completed and they couldn't see a grade they waitlisted me. I had everything in on time and I live in county. Hopefully better news will be coming.

I've heard that about webadvisor not changing, which makes sense being we are health science students until we actually start the nursing program. How is your second semester going Megan?

naen35 - If I get accepted I can't wait to meet you in class this summer! I certainly hope to see you there!!

crhoward13186 -I'm trying to get my foot in the door at a hospital too but it isn't easy for sure! I think you were waitlisted for not having the classes done too like you said. When I spoke to them at one point they told me they want to see "grades" in by the time they're making decisions so just being in the class isn't a guarantee you will pass it and I'm thinking they don't want to chance giving someone a spot not knowing if they will indeed pass the class they are in but haven't completed...or so is my guess as to why it is done that way. I can't stop stalking my mailbox even though I want to!! lol!!

ggriffith639- Sorry about being the one to break the news. I too took the computer class only to find out literally days after the class finished that they no longer required it...and I couldn't sell my book back either!! I did find a buyer on half.com though luckily. I have found that in order to get reliable information on the requirements for nursing...call the nursing department directly with questions. They are helpful and give you the correct information. I've never once had a problem when I've called them directly. If you're planning on getting your BSN down the road (which will probably be required) you can always use your computer class for credits...hopefully! That's what I'm hoping! lol!

JoBamsMom - good luck to you!!! I hope you get in and I hope to be right there with you!! My major has always been "nursing" but has always shown up as health sciences, they told me all students going for nursing have health science as their major until they actually get into the program. Perhaps that is a sign! I certainly hope it is for you!:yeah::redpinkhe

I hope we all hear something very very very very soon!! It has to happen soon....doesn't it!!!???

I feel the same way! I don't WANT to stalk my mailbox, but I can't help practically skipping to it once I see that the mailman has visited!! Were supposed to know "no later than April 15" so every day were one day closer haha! The suspense is KILLING me!! Fingers crossed for everyone :) :monkeydance:

hey its my first semester and I love it. Its a lot of work but i like what I'm learning so that definitely helps. I had all my prereqs done when I finished and was accepted so if you are done everything you should be good. good luck!!

Another week with an empty mailbox everyday! aaaagh!!! lol! I'm glad I'm not the only one stalking my mailbox though! Megan - I'm sorry, you did say you started this semester. I guess because I'm hopefully going to start in the fall I just forgot and thought you started in the fall, sorry! I'm glad you like it, I know it will be hard but anything worth having it worth working for and we'll all hopefully be RN's very soon! :) Besides if we all make it we can write to you for advice maybe!

Hopefully we get letters this week!!!!

Hey guys,

So I called the nursing dept. today, and the lady on the phone said that the admissions department is mailing out decision letters starting the middle of March, so we should be hearing something very soon!!! Good luck to you all!

I'm so glad you called and got some info, thank you! My daughter's birthday is March 16 so perhaps that will be a good luck day for us all! Even though I now know I don't need to stalk my mailbox this week at all I have no doubt I still will! lol! I hope the next posts we all make are "I GOT IN!!!" Thanks again for calling!

I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got my letter today and it is post marked march 4. im over the moon! i hope i see many more of these same post in the next few days. good luck guys!

I Got My DENIAL letter, because they were missing my high school transcripts... Which were OVERLOOKED because my maiden name was hyphenated. Long story short, made a phone call, problem solved, and now waitlisted. So unbelievably bummed. I suffer because of a stupid oversight :-(

I GOT IN!!! Yeah! :) I can't even begin to say how excited I am!! I cried and haven't stopped smiling all afternoon! I already ordered my background and drug test and have my acceptance and reservation check ready to go in the mail tomorrow! lol!! Congrats to naen35 too, can't wait to meet you in June in class!!! JoBamsMom - I'm sorry about your mix-up but at least it was fixed fast and hopefully you will go from waitlist to accepted just as fast!!

Just like naen35 said I hope to see lots of "I got in" posts over the next few weeks!!! Congrats to all!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::redbeathe
