Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.
email is out.....
There were 554 applicants competing for 265 seats in the January 2017 Registered Nursing (AS) class. Two hundred and sixty five (265) applicants were selected who earned between 7 and 16 total points and had pre-requisite GPA's between 3.1 and 4.0. Alternates earned 6 total points, and had pre-requisite GPA's of 3.09. In this class, there are 34 alternates.
Unbelievable.....
Update:
Emails have gone out to those who have been invited, our alternates, and those of you who's application is staying in review and being moved to the May 2017 term. This semester was VERY tough; tougher than last semester. GPAs are very high again. There were 554 qualified applicants; over 100 more than last semester.
If you are staying in review, I strongly encourage you to meet with an academic advisor to discuss your options. I have listed the four health science advisors on the email. Please do not come in to health science admissions and ask your options. What I can tell you, is if you have taken courses at BC and passed, you will not be able to repeat those courses at Broward College (or any other state school). You will have to retake those courses at a private institution. Meet with the advising team to discuss what is best for you.
For those of you who have been invited, and our alternates, congratulations! We will discuss all the certificates, background checks, etc. at the pre-admissions sessions. I look forward to seeing you all.
Also, please be patient with me responding to you if you have replied to the emails. I have sent out 300+ emails today.
Have a great weekend.
Nichole
For those of us that didn't make it let's move to this new forum and keep trying ! Let's not give up :/
