Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

I have one on the way. I'm really nervous about how hectic things are gonna be juggling a newborn and nursing school.

It will work out just fine. At least babies sleep much and don't talk back yet í ½í¸†

Lol oh gosh you're so right. That makes me feel a whole lot better.

Yeah, I have 4 kids and my husband is a firefighter so he works 24-48 hour shifts. My house will be hectic and probably a mess throughout school lol. We'll be making a lot of sacrifices, but all for the greater good. I'm more excited than nervous about how everything will work out.

I give you all credit, I can not handle both full time school and being a single mom. Unfortunately my support system is not local. I am from the UK and my parents still live there. The plan is to send my 2 boys (5 & 7) to live with them for 18 months so i can complete school. Its a very difficult decisions but I know they will be in a loving home and get to experience British culture.

Do you have any pointers for process.

I already bought the book and I am reading. Any pointers as practice questions, exam structure etc.? Focus area. I heard the first semester is ruff a lot of students drop out.

Hello everybody, anyone interested in buying the latest required books?? I have them all brand new for cheaper . Except for the pharmacology and math book (you don't really need them and can actually get the online version for free just ask around, don't waste your money). 954 826 8873 (text preferred)

My husband works full time too. Sacrifices are the only way that we'll be able to manage everything. I just pray we get in. That's the first step lol

I quit my salaried job just to dedicate myself for this program. I'm so anxious when we start getting points and see pre admissions instead of application in review.

Keep faith dear. It'll all work out for the better ;)

Being without your boys will be tough, I'm sure, but children are strong, resilient, and very forgiving. I'm sure they will cherish their time with your parents and their British culture forever. It's a big sacrifice but also a great opportunity for them... and for you, becoming an RN! :)

Amen to that! :)

Hey guys, here's a link to the PDF for Process 1... Perry and Potter Fundamentals 8th Ed. I'm pretty sure we'll be using the 9th Ed. but this is still helpful if you want to start looking over vitals, health assessment, infection control etc. right now.

Are you already in the program?
